Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Jackson Parish and have all my life I live in Quitman,Louisiana. I am married "1976-date" and Love life and family. I have been working on our "Hinton" family tree for about 21 years or so I think. I have discovered a lot of Hinton's all over the place and have talked to several via the Internet and have done DNA testing and work with FTDNA and Ancestry.com along with 23&me,Ydna, and some others that I don't recall right now. Some of my other family tree members include are. Carson Aldy Whitman Stevenson Huey Wright With many more besides my wife's family is Blackburn Roland Bell.

Blessed are the great grandmothers, who hoarded newspaper clippings and old letters, For they tell the story of their time. Blessed are all the grandfathers who filed every legal document, For this provides proof. Blessed are the grandmothers who preserved family Bibles and diaries, For this our heritage. Blessed are fathers who elect officials that answer letters of inquiry, For some, this is their only link to the past. Blessed are mothers who relate family traditions and legends to the family, For one of her children will surely remember. Blessed are the relatives who fill in family sheets with extra data, For them who owe the family history. Blessed is any family whose members strive for the preservation of records, For theirs is a labour of love. Blessed are the children who will never say, "Grandma, you have told that old story twice today."

JW NELSON
Please get in touch with me by phone. I hope you don't mind .
Hello again and thank you for your response. Well I am new to all this but I do know we are indeed cousins. I might have had the birth year wrong for my great grandfather John Simeon Nelson as I was thinking he was born in 1873. He did however die in 1941. He was a dentist and he was stubborn when walking across roads and believed that the cars should stop for him. This thinking got him hit by a military jeep and wound up costing his life. My great grandfather had several children, most of the names I do how ever know. Otis E Nelson was the oldest I think born around 1895. He was a lawyer in Wichital Falls Texas. Anyway I would enjoy sharing the little information I have if you would please give me a call. 325-212-9845. I have not had a chance to buy a new PC as a few weeks ago it went down and all I had left was the hard drive. I do all my communication like now on my iPhone. Please do get in touch with me and I would enjoy knowing more on how to get in touch with this relative you mentioned from New Mexico. Perhaps when we talk if you would not mind, I would rather enjoy seeing your family tree. G_D bless and I look forward to hearing from you.

RE: DNA Testing
thanks for the tip.
I did go to the site and entered Ben's data. What I was able to find from that was there was another person on the Rogers line which I am working, who had a dna link.
it is for a different son than I had thought, but, then, I really have no idea which son I link thru.
this has been really helpful
I will continue to explore that site

RE: Jack Morrow
there must be a family issue here. I see that Jack has 2 living sons and 2 living daughters.
they have erected a nice marker for the mother, but nothing for their dad.
I would say, leave it as it stands. we have memorialized the site. probably nothing else needs be done.

Giles Blalock Headstone
Thank you so much looking for Giles and Dolly Blalock Headstones. Although in the 1860 census, Dolly was in Jackson Parish, LA, Giles did not make the 1860 census as he passed in 1857. Dolly passed in 1862. Both Dolly and Giles where reported by others to be in the Walnut Ridge Cemetery. So if you are out in other cemeteries in Jackson Parish, keep a look out for both Giles and Dolly Blalock.

Again thank you for your efforts.
