I have been researching my family tree since 1998. I wrote a book on the Lashells/LaShelle/LaShell family.|
I am related to the following surnames: BAIN(E), BLACK, CHITTY, EASTON, HOUTZ, JAMESON, JEFFERS, KOSMICKI, KRACHT, LaSHELLE, LaSHELLS, LaSHELL, PITULA, RACE, RAYMER, SANDERS, TOMLINSON, WOOD & VAN ARSDALEN.
I love genealogy and I welcome any corrections or additions. I am really happy to answer any question or accept any suggestion, so don't be afraid to write. I am also happy to transfer a memorial to a family member or friend to maintain.
I enjoy helping others with their family research and try to post pictures from cemeteries in my area as frequently as possible. Pictures that I post on this site are for sharing, so please feel free to copy or post them as you like.

Thank you so much for transferring their memorials to my care. I am in the midst of my research for the Berryman family so will be adding info and links.

Can you correct the location of Crossroads Cemetery in Stephenson Co, IL.
The location is near Lena, West Point Township, not close to McConnell, IL

Thanks for adding Hannah and her husband as well as the photos. Your work in find a grave is appreciated.
However, the photo on Hannah's memorial is incorrect. The photo of the joint stone with her husband is correct on her husband's memorial, which is linked. Could you please fix this?

|D. Blean||Thomas B Medary|
Thomas B Medary turned out to be rather interesting since his family and his lost fortune were connected to Pres. Ulysses S Grant. His uncle Samuel Medary was also a politician.

Thanks, Jennifer. Found a couple of census records and it looks like he was a steam boat pilot. Devon

Thank you, Jennifer, for transferring these graves. Incidentally I seem to have spent an equal amount of time trying to connect my Grinold family to the well-known Grinnell family with no avail. Someday all will become clear.

Hi, Jennifer, I wouldn't mind taking over this couple if you want because I've been doing some research on the family although I know a lot more about Katharine than Thomas who remains something of a mystery.
If you have descended from the Race/Rees/Rice family back east, I bet we probably have relatives in common.
Thanks, Devon #47370062

When the city cemetery digitized their records, they were working off of hand-written records for most of the early burials. I've run across quite a few misspellings over the last few years--it can make it hard to find people, that's for sure! The older records were pretty hard to read at times, and misrecorded to begin with in others.
pontrhydyfen is the manager of Jack's memorial, so that's who your new corrections would have gone to. Hopefully it gets sorted soon.
If for any reason you need the photo I took of the stone, I keep my photo files in case someone needs them and can forward the photo to you. If I can be of any other assistance, please let me know.
Have a lovely week!

I checked my records, and it looks like I did delete that memorial. When you sent me the edits, I put them through, then realized not long after that I had inadvertently made a duplicate, owing to a spelling difference. I deleted the duplicate per Find A Grave's rules. The original is here:
I'm glad you asked about it, actually--I couldn't remember who had sent the edits so that I could let them know about the original memorial.
