Bio Photo I just want to say that I have taken it upon myself to photograph every headstone in every cemetery in JoDaviess county. Halfway done. If I have the pic I will gladly send it if it is requested.

I just realized that I am working on a project very similar to yours. I tried to email you but it bounced back to me. If you get a chance, could you send me an email at

Best Regards,

Isbell Cemetery

The Isbell family began settling Jo Daviess County in the 1830s. One of the first to arrive was my g-g-great grandfather, Elliott Temple Isbell. Eventually, he and his second wife Anna (Isbell) Avery Cook, settled on a farm near present-day Elizabeth and acquired large tracts of land.

I once visited Jo Daviess County for genealogical purposes. During my visit, I tracked down the current location of the old farm of Elliott Temple Isbell, where the Isbell Family Cemetery supposedly exists. I went to the property entrance, but there was this intimidating “NO TRESPASSING” sign at the entrance. However, I think it was more to discourage hunters because it really emphasized hunting was not allowed (from the amount of deer I saw I can see why).
Still, I hope you get through.

Thanks from my family for your efforts.

Hi Tanya,
I was wondering if you have any headstone pictures for Log Church Cemetery, I have put in several memorials to the cemetery and was wondering if you would like to post the pictures. I am going to start on Evergreen Cemetery next. Also I was wondering if you could transfer Daniel's memorial to me so that I can add information to his memorial? I will be also adding the information that I have found in Who's Who of Hanover to the memorials I have entered. Thank you in advance for the things you do for findagrave. Kenny Moorehead
