Bio and Links
Bio Photo Currently I'm involved in an urgent project. I'm trying to find the descendants of Deputy Constable Dennis Augustus Cronin who died on June 4, 1897 in Oakland. Please help me find them because they are needed for the dedication ceremony for a grave stone at St. Mary's in Oakland and for the ceremony in Sacramento too.

He had two baby girls at the time of his death. One girl maybe named Viola Cronin. She married Earl Smyth. It appears they were divorced before she passed away. They may have children. With help from Ed Smith (no relation) found Mr. Smyth at St. Mary's. Viola's location is out on the internet, but I could not find her based on that information.

Any help will be most welcomed.

I had hope that I would be able to wrap up the search for family members before the 115 year anniversary happens in June of this year, but that will not happen. The search goes on for any Cronin's.

If you find any information about Cronin/Cronan/Cronen or even Cronyn, give it to me and I'll investigate and I'll post it. Thank you.

I have collected information about marriages, births and other items that have been printed in the newspapers about each and every Cronin family in Northern California, and also some from the rest of the state. All deaths are posted to Find A Grave.

I've been working on my family genealogy for 17 years.

Soon I'll be off line and I can't say for how long because we don't have a place to stay yet.

Please remember that the photographs, as per US law, are still mine and yes, I'll give them to you to use as you wish. But, if you post new people in Find A Grave, please let me post the new photographs for them.

If you post else where please make note that the pictures came from me.

Thank you for all your help.

RE: Kirkham
OK, I sent you the marriage pre-nuptial. Could you send me the articles you have on her sons deaths?

Lady Mary Leilah
Mary actually had a very good pre-nuptial with Walter. And when she died, her estate was worth $80,000. I don't think she was the least bit crazy, I believe she had a number of people who were after her wealth, and wanted her to appear crazy so as to get control of her monies. She was not "broke" as reported in court case, after court case.
Her actual background, aside from the media (newspaper) reports, proves them wrong.....

RE: Ralph Kirkham Blair
Ralph's brother Arthur Kirkham died before 1904 in Calif. He attended San Francisco Physicians and Surgeons School. Eloped and married Edith Ursula Fitzgerald on 3 November, 1900 in Stockton.
Edith's grandfather was an officer who served with Gen Ralph Wilson Kirkham, Major Edward Howard Fitzgerald.
Lady Mary Lealah was not at all happy with the union!!
Do you have an Obit for Arthur?? Or even Ralph??

RE: Ralph Kirkham Blair
Looks like Ralph Kirkham Blair was in England in 1926, returned to the US thru England. Last Address was Johnstown, South Africa. Born in US of British Citizen. Engineer. Reference was Lord Churston, Churston Court, Churston, Fenress. Engineer.
His death record says he was born 22 Nov, 1877 to David B Blair and Leilah Kirkham Blair, in San Francisco.
Birth record says he was born 22 Nov, 1877 to David Boyle Blair and Mary L Kirkham, in Oakland, Alameda, Ca.
Draft record from 12 Sept, 1918 says he is of Great Britian ancestry. Living in Springfield, Mass, born 22, Nov, 1877. Is a engineer.
I have not found Ralph's younger brother, as your article says Lady Mary returned from Africa with 2 young sons. And the 1880 census just had David, Leilah K and Ralph, age 3.
Looks like I have the right guy....

RE: Ralph Kirkham Blair
Hi, Al, here is the death record I worked from

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FG35-BXJ

In Fort Meigs Cemetery, Ralph K. Blair is buried in a single grave plot with Carters and Blakers on either side. The burial date is all that is given: 10 December 1938. The death record says Perrysville which is in Ashland County but it and Perrysburg are often mixed up.

Let me know what is going on.

re: Ethel Plante Seale, St Mary's Oakland, CA
Have just visited my old email address, and discovered all the wonderful extra photos you sent me back in June for the location of Great-Aunt Ethel's final place of rest! I can't _believe_ the additional amount of trouble you went to, to provide those images (not to mention the sending of them)!!!!! Thank you _SO_ much for your time, and for your great kindness!!

PS: If you wish to reach me in future, my new email is gravefinds(at)gmail(dot)com, or just visit Aunt Ethel's memorial again and send me a SAC through there -- it will arrive at the same e-address. :D

All the very best!
