Hi! Please take a moment to stop by and visit my Dad, he died June 13, 2013 and I miss him terribly. |
Thank you so much to everyone who leaves flowers for Dad! It means a lot to me to know he's remembered.
My Uncle Denny died this morning, Jan 6, 2015.
If you have a few moments, stop on by to visit some of my family, they're all very dear to me!
Grandma and Grandpa Gantley, I can't believe they've been gone so long. Aunt Eileen, too, who was total awesomesauce. Jeff was married to my cousin, he was always a lot of fun and we were shocked when he left us so suddenly.
Sissy was my sweetheart's sister, she left them far too soon. He and his mom speak of Sissy so often it's like I knew her, and she's sorely missed. His Grandpa Evans is a frequent visitor in family conversation, too. Aunt Lil, who died in March 2013, asked to be added to Findagrave, the whole story is on her memorial :)
Q & Ra are my birds, I miss them screeching to greet me when I get home and the joy of their company.
The Black Turken is the bird in my profile picture
I've always enjoyed looking for graves and hunting for cemeteries. This has also extended to peoples' virtual cemeteries, I go through a lot of them. It's always interesting, like those in the real world. (I should also mention I love reading peoples screen names, too, some are so cute, clever, or otherwise interesting!)
I've visited most of the graves I've listed here and but I AM NOT related to most of them, if you want to edit/add a bio. on anyone I've listed please contact me and I will be happy to do so. I'd also be happy to transfer memorial ownership.
I wish that all the memorials on here had a bit of a bio, an obit, a note from family or a scrap from a newspaper. So that you, the reader, could have even a tiny glimpse into the life that is gone. Same with family links, it makes me sad so many memorials have no links, no bios, no flowers. I have been working at finding out anything I can for everyone I've added, but so many of these people are simply a mystery.
A while ago someone asked me why I do this, why do I spend time in cemeteries, taking pictures of graves, researching families that aren't my own, adding them here, linking and transferring, talking to people and finding out more. Ask me every day and I imagine I'd have a different answer every one, but in the end it boils down to love. I love what I do, and I love my family, and know that everyone was once loved, loved others, and just because they have died doesn't mean that they don't deserve the love of the living, even if it isn't a relative or friend.

Death is beautiful when seen to be a law, and not an accident - It is as common as life.
~Henry David Thoreau
Even death is not to be feared by one who has lived wisely.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
~1 Corinthians 15:55
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
~ John 15:13
Death is a delightful hiding place for weary men.
"Mayst thou rest soundly and quietly, and may the light turf lie easy on thy bones."
"My heart has joined the Thousand, for my friend stopped running today."
~Richard Adams, Watership Down
It seemed to Hazel that he would not be needing his body any more, so he left it lying on the edge of the ditch, but stopped for a moment to watch his rabbits and to try to get used to the extraordinary feeling that strength and speed were flowing inexhaustibly out of him into their sleek young bodies and healthy senses. "You needn't worry about them," said his companion. "They'll be all right--and thousands like them. If you'll come along, I'll show you what I mean." He reached the top of the bank in a single, powerful leap. Hazel followed; and together they slipped away, running easily down through the wood, where the first primroses were beginning to bloom.
~Watership Down, Richard Adams

I am currently going through Mount Adnah's burial records. All SACs that you will be getting from me in the next few weeks are based on those findings. Just a heads up. Thanks. Stay warm.

Hello again I was walking via my computer this morning in your cemeteries in Oswego and Isaac Johnson d. 10 July 1841 is the son of Dinah Johnson b. 24 July 1792. If you would like the names of all there children and the dates I have I would be happy to give to you. Thank you for such thoughtful work you do for us that can not.
|Bob Williams||RE: Oh hi there!|
You're right, if you're a descendant of Caswell's, that makes us cousins. I've noticed that you are managing a lot of memorials for relatives of mine, so I'll be sending a bit of work your way as I link people to their parents, spouses, kids, siblings, etc.
If you have genealogical information about the family prior to Job & Lucy Sherman and Gilbert Caswell, please drop me a line.

Is there a picture of Dinah's headstone?
|Jacqui Server-Garcia||Dinah Johnson|
Hello again, I have been with the historical society and history people and they can't really find a lot on Dinah. But this is what I can tell you and what I am doing. I see you have added Isaac to her memorial and I thank you for that. Isaac Johnson b 17 July 1761 - d. 8 Aug 1832. MA
Dinah Walker Johnson b 6 Nov 1765 MA. Isaac is my DAR Patriot and with out a doubt she is the wife of Isaac and my 5 x great grandmother. The ladies also agree with me that this is right. I just want to than you for your help
Jacqui Server-Garcia :)

Yes, I guess we are cousins. And because you're maintaining several pages of Sherman descendants and families they married into, I've submitted a few edits that you get to review.
