Since I am unable to get out and about to take photographs, it really means a lot to me when the "Cemetery Walkers" on Find a Grave upload pictures to these memorials. Thank you very much for your time, effort and generosity. Your work is truly appreciated. ~Honor

When I heard that Ancestry had purchased Find a Grave, I braced myself for a total revamp of the site and felt it would not be a change for the better. Their new format has proven that.

Prior to these changes, visiting a page was like taking a virtual visit to a cemetery, with headstone and cemetery entrance photos and with all of the information concerning the departed clearly in view. Now, instead of a personal web page to honor the memory of family and friends, the site has the impersonal appearance of a genealogy data site and the visitor has to scroll and scroll to view links. Ancestry has a knack for "new and improving" sites into oblivion. It is truly heartbreaking that "the powers that be" at Ancestry are so out of touch with what the Find a Grave members and visitors want. They have bulldozed ahead with the new format despite negative feedback.

Although time-consuming, it was a joy to research and share information, but I am not going to be a "worker bee" for Ancestry, when they have so little regard for the feedback of their contributors. Since the "new" format has become permanent, I will be focusing on improving my existing work, but will not be adding any more memorials to this site.
