I have been involved in cemetery research since 2004, concentrating on old sites in Claiborne County, Mississippi. I love the peace and solitude that comes with surveying an old site and "discovering" whose name will be on the next stone. My goal is to put together a historical and geographical sketch of Claiborne County, based on cemetery locations, 1800's marriage records and will records. I get a thrill out of being able to put people in touch with their long-lost ancestors. I will always be happy to transfer any memorials to their relatives or other loved ones. And despite my e-mail address, I do NOT dig up bones!|

Thank you for the photos of these infants graves of my relatives! I am so thrilled you posted them. We were there years ago; don't know how I missed these. Thank you. Leslie
|Virginia Weeks Warbington||Fannie B. Fortson Williams|
My information regarding her name came to me from her grandson, Merrill Calhoun Williams Jr. I have copies of his pedigree sheets from when we corresponded. However, I must acknowledge that he was prone to rely heavily on "family history." He is now deceased. So, I shall concur with the tombstone inscriptions.

I know this cemetery is in Jefferson county
and your work has been in Claiborne, but
the directions to Harrison cemetery are like the Torrey Cemetery. (On old road off Hwy 61 to Alcorn.)
I was hoping you may know someone helpful,like yourself, in that county that may assist me in getting better directions so I can find this cemetery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much Again,
|Tamatha Castle||Torrey Cemetery|
I was letting you Know that I have the
directions to the Rail/Torrey Cemetery.
But Thank You so much for your time that you
put into the old Cemeteries in Claiborne Co.
People like yourself are Greatly Appreciated
even if you are not told often.

I am looking for a Torrey Cemetery South of Hermanville Ms. The Cemetery has 4 headstones and it was added by a MS. It has David Davenport, Hester Davenport, John Rail and Obediance Rail are the ones with headstones. I saw that you have
added a Torrey Cemetery in Pattison with 17 headstones and a Torrey gravesite with 1 headstone with two names. I was wondering is the Torrey Cemetery that MS added June 5 2009 maybe the same as part of the ones you added or is it a different one all together. If you have information or a better location than south of Hermanville that Ms provided. The Davenports are part of my family line and I would love to visit this gravesite.
William would you please transfer David Lewis Middleton Memorial# 69304000 to me? He was my uncle. Thanks, Martha Middleton-Odom

Thank you for the work that you are doing! My dad is Timothy Vernon Baker and is buried in that cemetery. I live out of state and it is a great way to visit when I can't be there in person. I have uploaded a person picture of him to go along with the marker! I hope this helps other relatives and friends as well!
