Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello everyone.

I came across this website and decided it was a nice way to honor forever those loved ones who have crossed my path of life at some time whether family, friends, co-workers or their families. I have also included quite a bit of information on my family (Rake/Raike & McCane) as it becomes available for genealogy purposes.

If by adding any of your loved ones I have overstepped my bounds or upset you that is not my intent. If you do not like what I have done please let me know and I can delete the information.

Please use the edit button for sending any requests for corrections or transfer.

If you have other loved ones you would like for me to add just send me their information and I will be happy to do so for you.

Take care....

Greg

The comment below isn't mine but I saw how true it was within a short time of being on Find A Grave. I copied this to share from another member's site:

I think it is really a shame what findagrave has evolved into. What started as a noble way to link people with graves of loved ones they could never hope to see, and with the generations that had preceded them, has turned into a game for some.

Memorials have turned into a kind of "trading card", a competition of who can own the most memorials and post the highest numbers. What has been forgotten by many is that these are people, loved in life and death, not a commodity to be traded or owned.

My apologies to those that have pure motives. I hope there are more of us than there are of them.

You may use any of my photos for your own personal use or for posting to your tree on Ancestry.com without my expressed consent. You are not permitted to use my photos for commercial usage. If you do use my photos, I appreciate a note crediting me with the photo if you can. If not, no big deal. The whole purpose of posting photos is to breathe life back to the deceased.

Find - A - Grave
I read your comment regarding the evolution of Find - A - Grave and aI agree with you. I've come across several people who have tens of thousands of memorials that they have created from lists or books, but they have never even visited the cemeteries in which the people are buried. Since it's impossible to properly maintain that many memorials, a good many have very little information and almost none of them are linked to family members. I've also found these people are very reluctant to transfer any memorials. It's all about the numbers for them and I think it's disrespectful to the deceased and their families. Thanks for posting your message.

Re: 35229028 Fred Raike
I believe that your Fred Raike is the same as memorial ## 30201229 - Frederick Milton Raike. I located a copy of his obituary in the 1941 Portsmouth Daily Times that lists his parents and siblings. Let me know if you would like a copy.

Trading Card Comment
I read your forwarded comment in your bio section. How true that has become for some contributors. Calling them contributors is a generous term.

Greg, Thanks for the information for Joshua A. Murphy. I was unable to find the details, and my cousin was unable to send them to me. So, appreciate your assistance. Thanks for your contributions to Findagrave.

Greg, Have sent corrections for incorrect maiden name and spouse link for your merged memorial 65915996. Perhaps the merge was meant to be with 67643356 in East Hill Shrine Mausoleum; Dorothy was buried there originally but then moved to Asbury Cemetery. Your shared marker pictures are correct for 65915996 and 126427279. Sorry about posting on your profile page; my computer won't 'allow' me to add to the blank edit space on memorial corrections. mrs

Were you a personal friend of Andy's? Andy is a cousin of my husband's. I have been doing some research on his family. I can't find where his parents are buried either. Thank you for creating this memorial for Andy.
