Hi, I am Billy .......|
(Last updated 16 Dec 2012)
Due to my Dad's death, I have taken over my dad's work on the Womble Family Tree. The Family tree goes back to the 1600's when the Wombles(Wombwell) came over from England to Virginia.((( Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Thomas Wombwell who settled in Virginia in 1648 ))) Sometime in the early 1700's the Wombles move to Edgecombe County, NC.
Edgecombe became a County 1741
Nash become a County 1771
Wilson become a County 1855
These are the 3 main Counties for the Womble
(The early years) ....
John Womble b.1756/d.1821
OFF of John William Womble b.1837/d.1904:
There are very few "Womble" (name Womble) left in Edgecombe County from the blood line. There is a lot of, next to kin, still there farming the home stead.
The Family Tree is not just of the Womble but it goes in all direction. You can follow the links I made on Fine A Grave. My dad did not take pictures of any headstones. SO, since I am out there anyway, why not take pictures of other headstones.
The County I will be going to is Harnett, Johnston, Wilson, Nash and Edgecombe, all in NC.
These are the main Counties.
I made this line for family members who would like to trace their family ancestry.
I prefer you to send me information on Find A Grave Memorial. Once I know there is an interest on that person, I will add the information and add some other information that I can find and sometimes I will start a family member search.(Trace their family tree) I love doing this and I do this for free.
Please do not ask for a Transfer just to own it.
Please add or contact me if you have family photos .......

Good morning Mr. Womble, can you give me directions to the Peacock Family Cemetery in Johnston County that you have photographed. I am researching my husbands family and looking for Peacock descendants from Johnston County.

What I should have mentioned in the message I posted a little while ago, is that it would be nice if, the next time you are in the Clayton City Cemetery, you could take a photo of Martha Creech's tombstone (Memorial #85646524). Obviously there is no hurry on this.
I would do this myself, but I do not live in North Carolina.

Glad to hear you are continuing your Dad's work. You have downloaded a tombstone photo to Sanford Creech's memorial, (#85640974). His 2nd wife, Mary Broughton Creech, is also on that tombstone. Would you please download this photo to Mary's memorial which is #85642266.

Hi Billy, I'm a very distant relative to the Mercers' and am fascinated by the history of the farm. I believe my mother and grandmother spoke with your dad many years ago at the Mercer home, and he invited them to family reunions. Would love to chat with you more.

Thanks for responding. What I got was from you on "findagrave" for Rowland Wiggins and the sheets from the family Bible of James Wiggins, born 1818,son of Rowland Wiggins born 1794, son of Noah Wiggins, born 1750/1760.all in Edgecombe, NC. I have been trying to join DAR ,and I need the Bible sheets for Rowland. I think they may accept the pages from the book you referenced. I just need to find a copy of the book.

Son of Abishai Horne & Mary Ricks
h/o Frances Thorpe
you have his birth as 1782 which would make him 23 when he died. given the number of children he had I don't think so.
I have 2 Horn Family Histories that list his dob as 1771 which would make him 44 when he died, which seems more likely.
Would you share your source for the 1782 date? Thanks for all you do to help us locate these ancestors.

It looks to me like I created the duplicate, so I will delete it. Yours was created in 2010, and mine in 2013. I did copy over my closeup photo.

Done copy and paste :-)
It did not paid to take a break from Find A Grave LOL
I just noticed that I created a duplicate record for Beulah Parker. Would you move all of the info on my record over to your original one, and let me know when it is done. Then I will delete the duplicate.

I agree with your info for Sarah. Must have sent the parents link to the wrong memorial or before I learned more about her. Sorry...Gloria J.
|Robin Womble Autry||RE: Pittman / Womble|
Hi Billy, I had a son in 2003, working full time etc so had to step away and take of the living.
My jump off on the Pittman's has been info given to me by my grandma Pearl Womble and her sister Peggy. I've taken what I know and added sources from ancestry. I'm sure it's not 100% but it's a working (living) document.
I see that my 2nd cousin Debra Hardy is on here and ancestry. I'm sure she has additional information and I'll be checking it out. I am uncertain of the parentage of John Thomas Womble though I see some unsourced info on findagrave.
I am beginning to gather documentation so I can attempt DAR/SAR membership while my dad and his sister's are still around to enjoy seeing it happen.

Hi Billy, just saw an old message between yourself and Debra Harvey referencing my grandmother Eva Pearl Pittman. Your dad and I communicated a bit between 2000-2002. I am related to John Womble 1756 and John Thomas Pittman 1853. Robin Womble Autry
