I started researching my family roots in 2009 after knee surgery. I thought it (genealogy, not the surgery) would keep me sane during recovery. Wow, was I right! What an addictive pastime. I've 'discovered' two direct third cousins in the UK as well as several cousins here in the states, all of whom have added valuable information to my research.|
Family lines I'm researching are WILDE (from England), IVES, BURGAN, DENEHIE, CRIST, TIERKOFF (or TIORKOFF), FRETWELL. Feel free to contact me if you have family of the same name.

Dear Cecily, First of all, I want to Thank You for making the effort to find the grave of William Mills Organ and to photograph his tombstone. I know that a government issue Civil War style tombstone was ordered for Private William Mills Organ on November 29, 1879. At that time, it was stated that Private William Mills Organ was buried in what was then called the American Cemetery, Wheatland, Clinton County, Iowa, now apparently called the English Cemetery. I believe he must be buried next to his daughter, Nancy Ellen Organ, who died in 1869, and who does have a tombstone. If you ever go back to the cemetery, could you tell me if there are empty spaces on either side of Nancy Ellen Organ's grave and if there is any evidence of a grave on either side and possible even the base of a Civil War style buried in the ground near her tombstone? Thanks again for this effort. Sincerely, Baxter

Will do. Bear in mind it may take several days or longer for the dupes to get deleted as they are now controlled by someone else and I have to let Chris know to ask for them back from the contributors who currently control them.

Ces, I'm not sure about the location. Thanks for all your help!!! Glenn
I added the links to the couples at St. Mary's in Saukville. I also noticed a John and Ella were on that USGenWeb site, but I ran out of photo requests.
