|I really enjoy digging for my family's roots and I also enjoy helping others connect with their family roots. |
Whenever I take photos, I try to upload them to USGenweb Archives tombstone Project as well as FindAGrave.
If I end up adding a memorial for a member of your family, PLEASE do not hesitate to ask me to transfer it to you. This site is most valuable when every memorial is lovingly tended and updated by family members.
I would be remiss in not mentioning that most of the cemeteries here in Alameda County, CA are huge and I am not able to walk the whole cemetery to find your folks. Several of the cemeteries also have policies of not providing location information to volunteers. For these reasons, I recommend that you contact the cemetery ahead of time for a location and add that information to your memorial. Where possible, I will contact the office for location information, but I confess that requests containing location information make it to the top of my list.

Hi Kay, I added some bio to your memorials for Earl and his mother Sallie. The material came from a book about Mason County WWI veterans.
Please let me know if you do not approve and I will remove it.
Thanks for your time!

This marker has been found and posted, hope the information is helpful. The spelling of the last name is slightly different, but everything else is correct per your information.

Thanks for your help. I found them, and yes these are the correct ones. Yes, I would like you to transfer these to me. They are not my direct line, but they are extended Barr family from Pine Grove, PA. I was having trouble finding early Barr ancestors and remembered something I read that said if you could not go back in time, go [research] forward. So that is what I am doing. Yes this technique did work for me and I extended my line by two generations. Yeah, I got to do the genealogy happy dance! Take care, Suz

My sincere apologies for not responding sooner, but I only just now saw your message. So much for those auto notifications!!
I looked through the photos and think you got them correct - at least the ones for my family. Many of the others were in pretty good shape and the names legible. It does look like a very interesting and tough cemetery to decipher, though.
Here's my email if you would like to forward the photos you mentioned. I'll take a look and let you know if I have any revelations.... firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for doing this. Really great photos. Sounds like the people whose land the cemetery is on were quite accommodating.

Thank you so very much for responding to my photo request. It is truly a shame what has happened to Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Kay, you may want to get in contact with Michael Gulden. (I don't know him personally, but he has a pic of the stone for one of his memorials). He may be able to get a pic for you or let you know where the tombstones are being kept. I drive by this cemetery on the way home from work and there are only 4 or 5 stones there.
