Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a native Texan, born and reared in Northeast Texas. I have been researching my families for about thirty years, making me the family historian.
I have spent weeks, days, and hours in many states researching the courthouses and walking the cemeteries looking for my family.
Just recently I began placing memorials to my family members on findagrave; a wonderful website. The majority of my postings are my family.
I try to acquire photographs of my relatives; this makes me feel as if I actually know them.
I am a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and genealogy is my passion.

Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so
I wonder if you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you

Just wondering if you were related to my Aunt Johnnye since the memorial was passed to you...She was my Great Aunt and my Grandfaher's sister. I was named after her...

Just curious on my part?

Shrum family
My great-grandmother was a Shrum. I know very little about the family. Her father was Benjamin Shrum. His first wife died, and he moved to (I think) Parker county, Texas. Are you part of this Shrum family?

Hi Emma,
Wow could I please have a copy of the marriage bond you have posted for Abner and Betsy? As you know I am the 3rd granddaughter of Mourning and John Gilbert. I believe we have corresponded in the past.

Martha Combs Combs
Hello and thank you for your wonderful photography and dedication to the documentation of the Combs line. Would you mind clarifying Martha's inscription date of death? Does it read 1806 or 1801? It reads died "at age 72" so 1806 vs 1801 would determine her paternity: 1801 (born 1729) would make her a Morrell vs 1806 (born 1734) would make her a Combs. Thanks! Clare in MA.

RE: Thomas A Garrison
Then they canít be the same, can they? Hard to be buried in 1924 in Gallatin, then enumerated in Memphis in 1940. :) Your Lucile married in Madison County in west Tennessee, much closer to Memphis than Gallatin. They were enumerated in Jackson (Madison Co.) in 1920 & 1930. I believe Iíve found her Thomas, though - see #143437045. Hope this helps.

Thomas A Garrison
Could you have confused this person with another? You don't mention the "Hicks spouse's" first name, or the date or location of marriage, but I didn't think this Thomas had ever married. If you link a spouse, I'd be grateful if you'd be so good as to share the marriage record. Thanks so much.

Harry Ezra Rose
Greetings Emma,

I will happily transfer Harry to you. I do have one question. Do you have the location of Harry and his wife Rose's burial?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards,
