Feel free to use any photos that I have taken. If you want to note my name and give me credit, it is very much appreciated.
My current project is Woodland Cemetery in Las Vegas. Big thanks to Miracle Mile Tim for recommending this project. With in excess of 24,000 burial plots, Woodlawn may take 2-3 years to complete all memorials with obituaries and genealogical data. It appears that approximately 1,000 gravesites may be unidentified (have no markers). Further investigation has shown that numerous listed Woodland burials are at either Bunker Eden Vale or Palm Desert nearby.
Also photographed all markers in Bunker Eden Vale to determine proper burial location. Have entered approx. 97% of those burials.
Continuing to research the 1,000+ older memorials entered that have no gravestones. Once Eden Vale and Palm Desert are done then will focus back on remaining Woodlawn.
Thanks for all the assistance and additional information folks have been providing.
Leroy Myers Memorial# 123515748 Jeff, I appreciate the hours of work you put into this sight. I know you have taken a TON of pictures for Find a Grave. My Uncle in he subject above has, I believe, the incorrect picture posted. Could you please double check this? I am doing my family's genealogy and would like to know if this is actually his headstone (it appears to be one of a lady). I am not complaining, just asking for clarification. And if it is incorrect, please correct at your earliest convenience. Thank you so much for what you do.
Thank You for Your Hard Work I sincerely Appreciate being able to view a picture of my little brother's grave in The Boulder City. Robert Walsh Reed lived 9 hours as he was born in the evening, and was called home that next morning as his lungs were to small. When I go down to Las Vegas I try to make a point of going to his grave and cleaning it, and leaving flowers.
Find a grave Thank you for thinking of these people you don't even know. I was twelve when my grandmother passed and couldn't remember where she was buried I had blocked the memory of my grandpa being buried altogether. These are the things that mean so much to know and you made that possible.
Phillip Conner Hello Jeff. My name is Robert Moore. I served in the U.S. Navy with Phillip Conner. A bunch of his shipmates including myself are coming to Vegas in May of 2016. We want to pay our respects. Do you happen to know Phillips parents? Is there anyway to get a hold of them? We would like to stop by and pay our respects to them too.
Thank you so much for all the hard work you've done for Find-a-Grave. You have a listing for John J. McDonald in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Las Vegas. He is my ggrandfather and was hoping you would transfer this listing to me and my family. Many of us have never seen his headstone and want to group him with his family. Thanks again.
Barbara Braucher Nice to meet a relative & thanks for the follow up. I am a DNA match on ancestry to a few folks who descend from Johannes Dietrich & Barbara Braucher. They are mentioned in the History of Lehigh Co. & History of Berks Co. books. Barbara is noted as being from Albany Township, Berks Co. & died in Berks Co. There is mention that her "sureties Christ. Braucher and Jacob Merkel" upon the death of her husband. If you do come across something about her family connection in the future, please keep me in mind. Best, Michal
