My family all settled in the Republic of Texas around 1835. Some of them coming with the Parkers to Anderson Co. Texas. Some going on into Limestone County and erecting Fort Parker.|
Some settling in Houston County.
They supported the Republic when it was trying to become a state, separate from Mexico.
They fought in the Civil War for the Confederacy.
They built churches and established religions.
They built forts and fought off Indian attacks.
They forged this land called Texas for a new way of life.

YES, CYNTHIA ANN PARKER IS MY 1ST COUSIN 4 TIMES REMOVED.
Note; I used the name Walling as I was growing up because my uncle Forest Walling raised me.
As it is not my legal name I still prefer to use it.
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone,
The name and date are chiseled out,
on polished marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care,
It is not too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist.
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you, in and flesh blood and bone,
Our blood contracts and beats
a pulse entirely not our own.
the place you filled one hundred years ago,
Spreads out among the ones you left,
who would have loved you so.
I wonder...if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew,
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
We live as long as we are remembered......Old Proverb
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
If anyone has any stories or information on any of my memorials, please let me know.
Every person that has lived has a story to tell.
I would like to know those stories. I think that every person should have their life remembered.
Anything at all is not to small, when it comes to a person's life.
If I have pictures, you may use them without asking. They are all our families.
A.R. Kendrick (A Parker relative, written on his stone).
I want no costly stone upon my grave to be
Ah, Savior knows his own and that's enough for me.
Just write it deep and plain that all who pass
may know that death to me is gain:
Through it to life I go.

I noticed that you are maintaining a Lucy Stokes memorial. Are you related to them. I have some pictures that came from a estate sale and I am trying to link everyone together and wonder if you can help

Nancy, thank you.
I hope your health has improved, I did not know you were hospitalized.
|Don Ferguson||Edith Gertrude Pridgen Pridgen #50662990|
I am not related to these folks, but they are (very) distantly related to one of my family lines; I ran across these listings as part of my research.
I don't know if you put it on Edith's page about her and her husband not being related, or if was the original creator; regardless, I thought you'd like to know what I pieced together.
They are indeed related, and closer than anyone had previously likely realized. Edith's mother was Mollie Pridgen, a daughter of Redding Scott Pridgen; her father was George Pridgen, a son of Bolivar Pridgen. Redding was one of Bolivar's older brothers, making Mollie and George first cousins.
Edith's husband, Wright Taylor Pridgen, was a son of Benjamin Pridgen - a younger brother of both Redding and Bolivar. This makes Edith and Wright, if I've done my "math" correctly, first cousins twice removed, since they have a grandfather in common. You don't necessarily have to include this on Edith's page, but you may want to get rid of the bit about them not being related or distant kin. I'd say they are much closer than distant.
Might be an interesting tidbit for other descended relatives seeking info (or not); I'll leave it up to you. Just thought you ought to know.
|Trevor P. Wardlaw||Jacob Teel|
Not sure if the email I have for you is till active, so I just wanted to drop you a quick note. I'll be in Palestine and Elkhart tomorrow and noticed you wrote about having copies of Jacob Teel's civil war letters. Would you be okay with me looking over the letters? In writing about Hubbard's Regiment, it has been difficult finding letters from our guys in Co. K.
Thanks for the help.
|Gail McKinzie Clark||Daniel Murchison # # 21154498|
This is the Daniel I am referring to below.
|Gail McKinzie Clark||John Murchison #52195738|
I think that John is a brother to Daniel Murchison.
Do you have any information that would verify that?
|Lynda Duncan Miles||Rutha Maude Rankin Smith memorial # 94998738|
I have changed the parents for Rutha. She is in my tree, and I don't know where those names came from - burning the midnight oil, I suspect. Anyway, They are correct now. I would appreciate it if you would remove the flowers you posted to her memorial that has the correction information & info on your family. I think it would make her memorial look nice. Thank you for your input, It was called to my attention on my bio page.
|S K||Isabella Baird Nunnely|
Your guess is correct. Hiram Archie Nunnely is the son of Isabella Baird Nunnely. Isabella is the daughter (and sister to my gg grandpa, Jerome B Baird) of Hiram Baird & Minerva Killen Baird.
Isabella was married to Archie Nunnely 25 Nov 1866 and divorced him sometime bef 1880. She later married a Tobin, then Jarius Biggs.
Isabella is also mother to Mary "Mollie" Nunnely (sister of Hiram) who married Gus Sawyer.
