Bio and Links
Bio Photo I just love walking through cemeteries photographing headstones as there are usually so many interesting ones. It's amazing how much information one can get from these headstones, especially the older ones. I have spent many long days and long hours walking cemeteries photographing all the stones to help immortalize them the best way possible before they are so faded that no one can read them anymore. I believe in immortalizing what we can of these stones for the future and let others know that at one point in time, these people lived.

I have spent many long hours, days, months photographing (and still working on) the following cemeteries: Oakwood Cemetery and St. Mary's Cemetery in Waukegan, Mount Olivet and Oakdale in Zion and Pineview in Beach Park.

Feel free to use the photos of your loved ones resting place for your genealogy research and your personal family tree. That is why I do this.

If a memorial is created and there is already a photo there, but I have a photo of another headstone for the same person, I will add my photo to that memorial (i.e.: they have a military AND a private family headstone) so there will not be two memorials for the same person. At times I will add my photo to an existing photo if the original photo was taken a few years before mine and mine shows the current condition of the stone (i.e.: now unreadable, broken, or faded). It's important for everyone to see how much they have changed since the first photo.

I will be more than happy to add information to the memorial if you have more than what is listed but please make sure you INCLUDE WHERE YOU FOUND THE INFORMATION FROM (i.e.: familysearch.org, census, IDS (Illinois Death Stillbirth index), family bible, etc) as I credit the person giving the information.

If you are a family member to the deceased (and I am not related in any way to the person on the memorial) and you would like to have your family transferred to you, please click on the EDIT button and click "correction" and just ask for the changes or transfer (please state your relationship with the deceased.) I will NOT transfer a memorial just because you asked to take over the maintenance of one or for you to just add information to.

I will not respond to transfer requests for a memorial from the message board here or from email.

Ward family in Oakwood
Very frustrated with my g-mail or browser.
I found Sarah Ward in 1900 in Waukegan and believe it is the same person as buried in Oakwood.
I can copy the link but not all of Ancestry's text.

Maybe this is Ancestry's doing....OK for folks to copy stuff from Find A Grave to Ancestry though...hmmm

The Ritchey's were my in-laws. Are you Sherman's Granddaughter? I have pictures and info if you are interested.
