CATHOLIC MOUNT AUBURN - UPDATE 4-26-2016
144 Civil War Veterans found, although there may be many more due to common names and occupation noted as "Laborer"
Completed adding available newspaper information for cause of death: 26 homicide, 698 accidents and 23 suicides.
Many burials at Catholic Mount Auburn are misidentified on the City/Town death records as being buried at other cemeteries. All area cemeteries are mentioned. The Mount Auburn Cemetery (noted at Cambridge) is incorrectly noted many times.
1854 - December 31, 1920 Edited using death certificates. Online death records end at 1920.
MISSING RECORDS: I HAVE VERFIED WITH THE CATHOLIC CEMETERY ASSOCIATION AND SEEN FOR MYSELF THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THEM. I ADDED BURIALS BY A REVIEW OF THE DEATH RECORDS OF BOSTON, CAMBRIDGE, SOMERVILLE, WATERTOWN, BELMONT, CHELSEA. -- Missing - June 1, 1882 - December 31, 1884 (Somerville & Chelsea records did not list a city or cemetery of burial and could not be added for that period.
June 1885 August 1895 Jan 1 1910 - June 30, 1911 September - October 1916 January - April 1920

RE: Collina grave at Catholic Mount Auburn Bill, THANK YOU A MILLION for all of the wonderful information. I truly appreciate it. I do no see James in the information. He was born ca. 1825 and died 20 January 1883, I assume he was buried there. Maybe you can answer a question for me. James and Michael had a brother Thomas Collins. He died 4 July 1900 in Boston at age 63. The abstracted death record says he was buried at "Arlington". From what I can tell that is aka Old Burial Ground??? Where would I write to obtain burial information? Thanks again for your kind and wonderful help.
regarding Madden/Sullivans at CMA Cemetery The George Madden at Catholic Mount Auburn was not the one I was looking for after all (I found mine at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lynn). I do, however, have a suggestion: since that is a most confusing situation (to say the least) - why not post something similar to what you sent me so that others would know who is buried where? Also, it wouldn't hurt to transcribe what is on the headstone since a lot of it is hard (or impossible) to read. I do appreciate the time you took to put the information together, and I'm sure there is a connection between these two Madden families. Again, thanks for your prompt response. And a big thanks for being a findagrave volunteer - what you do benefits ALL of us!!
