Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am an amateur photographer and research my family's history so photographing monuments combines two of the passions I have that keep the other side of my brain from atrophying (I work in IT).

I usually post monument photos at sufficient resolution for printing a 4" x 6" image for your personal records.

I will willingly transfer any memorial requested within find-a-grave's parameters unless it is a member of my extended family in which case I will be open to discussion.

I give permission for my images to be posted on third party sites such as Ancestry but request you note with the image "Copyright Bruce B. Gordon - used with permission".

RE: Burials at Stittsville United Cemetery
Sorry. I have been away from this site for a while. I don't know if this was sorted in all the time since you left this message in August. If it has not been sorted please let me know. In all likelihood I added these records when chasing a thread down a rabbit hole of fellow descendants from a common ancestor. I would have made the records based on photos at the Canadian Gravemarker Gallery. Anyways. Sorry for the time lag in responding. Let me know if I need to take action to move any records to a new findagrave cemetery entity. I know it can be frustrating when duplicate cemetery entries get created and it is a big job to fix it. Please let me know if you need me to do anything.

Slainte Bruce, Your research and dedication is amazing! I read your report on your website and was overwhelmed. I tried to leave a message but couldn't so I will Thank you! here. A 2017 resolution is to take on the owners ;) I added two more, the Nallans. A very sad ending to their lives. Much like the O'Connors. I have the Perth Courier report but didn't post it as it's rather descriptive. All the best, Cheryl

RE: St. Edward's Cemetery, Bedford Co. (Westport)
Hi Bruce,
Thanks for all the edits at St.Edwards cemetery, it's nice to have someone checking the data entry! I've taken a few photos at that cemetery but am hoping to photograph the whole cemetery next summer.

Hi Bruce, I want to thank you for the research you've done with this cemetery. It's dear to my heart having the original Mahons to this country from Ireland laid to rest there. If you wonder why some of the stones are missing or hard to read I can confirm in the 70's - 80's the town would set fire to the tall grass and so scorching the stones. I guess they hadn't heard of lawn mowers. Slanite! Cheryl

Along with the directory, I took a digital camera with me and took pictures of every stone that I saw. It's took about two years to the catalog the whole cemetery. Ellen Bishop would probably be a better resource since she still lives up there As I live in Colorado now.

Hey Bruce,

Link still not working for me... I suspect it's not happy with the spaces.

Happy to have you host the forms on your site - dropbox is dropping support for web pages in the near future anyway, so I was going to have to find a new platform anyway.

Once I find my way to your stuff I'll take a look and we can discuss further.

RE: Playfairs at Perth, Ontario

Thank you so much for the information on how to do the virtual memorials!

I have tons of info with no grave sites, although I just found a nephew and cousin interred in Edinburgh's Dean Cemetery :)

So this will all come in handy.

The Playfairs are related to my husbands family via marriage to the Avery family in Lanark County, Ontario...and a lot of other Scotch Line families.

So, yes, thank you, I'm willing to take responsibility and care of any Playfair memorials.

Thank you again.

RE: Doran & McSherry Monuments, Craig St., Perth
Hi Bruce - terrific pictures - thank you so much. I love the pictures of the actual enclosure and the pictures of the grave markers after the grass was cut, so please delete the pictures on John`s and Mary`s sites of the tombstone in each site of the tombstone before the grass was cut.

Really appreciate what you have and are doing.

RE: Noonan
Thank you so much for the update. I would really appreciate it if you would keep me in the loop.

Happy to change or update any of the memorials I created based on you findings. The ones I created were based on the church records which are posted on Nothing is indexed, so I went page by page to locate the Noonans using the birth/death/marriage info I had on my family tree on Ancestry.

Thank you so much for taking this on, it's quite a project but so very important to history!
