I am happy to help and share; all I ask is that you give me credit if you use my photographs on another site. |
I am working on my family tree, always a work in progress. I am researching both sides of my family: my father's side of the family, the Holder/Owen and Walker/Smith families, including some of the lines that cross; I am also working on my mother's tree that include the Moorman, Tate, Musselman, Wright, and Mendenhall families, and quite a few of the families connected to them, including my son-in-law's Way family.
I have the Wayne County, Iowa Cemetery Book (but not the supplement), so I would be happy to look up grave locations.
I also have Volumes 1-7 of the Scarborough/Haworth (Some Quaker Families), and I would be willing to look up information for others from those books as well.
When I photograph headstones, I make every effort to make sure the names and dates are legible.
A little about us...
We began our new adventure in July 2011, traveling full time in our RV. Now that I am retired, I hope to spend time sewing, reading, hiking, bicycling, kayaking (when it's warm enough) and (of course) working on my family trees and creating memorials for my family members here. I am happy to help others when I can, and I try to help fulfill requests when I am walking cemeteries where we are staying. My husband has his own hobbies; however, he goes with me and is very helpful when we walk cemeteries, including taking time to clean a headstone so that it can be read more easily.

No, I am not a family member. Thanks.

I see her obit has been added, thanks. I see only her father is linked to her memorial. Is her mother, Anna (Andrews) Earls, still living? Sorry, forgot to read the obit first. Thanks.

Hello, Zerelda. I happened to run across John Hiram Holder's death certificate. I found it to be interesting so I figured I'd search to see if anyone is looking for it. Just let me know!

The cemetery will no longer give volunteers locations but relative's may call and request them. Make sure you ask if there is a marker

Hi Zerelda, thank you very much for your reply.
I am looking for the Andrews family, 16 of them are listed in the book. Eula and Lyman are the ones I am working on now. If you have information for Ezra and Silas that would be appreciated also.
Thanks so much...

Hi, in your bio you said that you have the Wayne County, Iowa Cemetery Book and I was hoping that you could help me, I was able to access the book on-line and found the family I wanted however there is just the name and a number. I guess the number is associated with the cemetery they are buried in, so could you tell me what cemetery has the number 240?
Thank you very much for any help you can give me,

Just thought of some thing you might be interested in. I now live in Illinois but some times I want to read old newspapers from Iowa. I have my library contact the Iowa State Historical Library in Des Moines and they send these reels of newspapers to my library over here for me to use. To send the reels outside of Iowa, there is a charge of around $5 (sorry but it has been so long since I ordered these that I no longer remember the exact price). You may have to reimburse your library (depending on their policy). Go on the Iowa State Historical Library web site to see the list of newspapers they can furnish.

If your cousin has photos, post them!!
I was just doing my family but later decided to do everyone I found information on. I am related to some Walkers who are buried out at Tharp. Believe the connection was with Sarah Kellogg Walker. She ties in as a Kellogg. I went over to the quad cities area and visited Larry Walker and his parents once.

Thank you! And the others too! Did y'all find anything on her James there? He may be unmarked.
