Bio

FINDAGRAVE is a COLLABORATIVE website; Collaboration is working with each other to do a task and to achieve shared goals. It is a recursive process where two or more people or organizations work together to realize shared goals. Please be a contributor to findagrave not just a memorial manager of someone else's work.

Findagrave policy is to remove the names of the living, period. It is not an outdated policy.

I accept/work edits first thing in the a.m, throughout the day, and in the p.m. I later go back and do the research. When I receive edits, I research ALL records available and will add whatever is necessary. I crop, focus, and straighten all images before posting, to show respect for the deceased and their families. Please don't add an array of poor-quality images out of respect for the deceased's family. I desire to make each memorial I manage as attractive and pleasing as possible.
==
Please do not submit biographical edits with "cut and paste" data from statistical sources such as census and social security records. That information is readily searchable by everyone, free of charge, and adds little to a personal memorial. However, sometimes it has to be used because it is the only info found.
==
I am a bit _ about plot info. There is a standard format that cemeteries use. I prefer to contact the cemetery to get it correct. all the little do-dads that get included are not necessary and not used properly.
==
I have changed my mind about this. Although I do prefer to type up obits/bios and add the info from Death Certificates on my memorials, or clipping of obituaries, as long as they are not designated as grave or personal photos. Now that findagrave has made every other piece of information in an entry editable to others and auto-accepted if one is not regularly online, the presence of a clipping of a Death Certificate or grave photo is the only piece of information that can't be vandalized by bad actors, and I will be uploading more graphics to entries going forward, for that reason.
==
PLEASE SEND IN EDITS WHEN YOU ADD DEATH CERTIFICATES OR OBITS!! They don't need to be added. Just send me the info. Parents names, dates, places, etc. As memorial managers, we have no idea when folks just attach information to memorials. If you are taking the time to add it, please take the time to send the edits. Thank you!!
==
THANK YOU! to those volunteers who are always there for families and fellow volunteers. I am grateful for the wonderful volunteers and cemeteries I get the chance to interact with every day, you far outweigh the bad ones.
==
DID YOU KNOW? When uploading photos, there are 4 categories to choose from for the type of photo it is. Grave, Person, Family, and Other. Please use them. The photos will automatically be put in the proper place on the memorial. Grave pics will go to the top until a personal photo is added; then the personal; photo will go to the top..Thanks so much..

I entered and manage the Ilo-Vollmer Historical Society, Lewis County, Idaho, cemetery records for Lewis County, Idaho on their behalf.

The photos posted for some memorials will outlast the markers. Please crop your shoes out of the picture when you are standing over a flat headstone. Also take care when photographing upright stones, that your reflection is not staring back. Many markers are deteriorating through damage, wear, or sandstone materials. Your extra care in the composition and technique of the photograph adds historical value to these memorials.

Find a Grave is a virtual search tool to find marker information for final resting places. I reserve the biography area for life sketches and essential clarification - not census records, etc. If you have genealogy, there are other programs such as Ancestry, FamilySearch, and personal databases to build your tree and collaborate your findings.
