Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Chicago and moved with my parents and brothers to California when I was about 4 years old. I have always been interested in finding out more about my Chicago Italian ancestry and have recently connected, through ancestry.com, with a second cousin of my fathers. I volunteered to take photos when I discovered how helpful having proof of ancestors can be. I am currently working with 4 other people photographing and creating memorials for all of Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster, Ca; one section at a time.

Thanks so much, Nina, for taking the time to take the great photo of Thelma Blum's headstone. I truly appreciate it, and I know that the rest of the family will too!
Your contribution to Find-A-Grave is so very appreciated!

RE: Harris's in Paynesville
I looked again this morning but I did not see any of those markers. I did find one marker for Harris but there is no other indication of who is buried there.

Nina, thanks for the picture of mom's headstone. It is emotional for me to see after all these years. I live in Iowa and don't get over there much. Your cousin, Mary

Hi Nina: So how are you doing? I'm still plugging along on my sections, but have slowed down in the Winter. I completed Memories in October. I then did little Veterans Section, Apostles Section, Garden Crypts N, have almost completed Section 16A and have started on Ivy Section. The other volunteer has completed Good Shepherd and is working on Pines Section. All and all over 10,000 memorials have been added to Westminister since we started in the summer. I get emails almost weekly from someone who has found their loved one. We are really helping alot of people. Hope you can get back to work on it soon. Christy

RE: Can you remove picture of grave for Alvin Opp
Yes, you had helped me with several OPP family members at the Santa Ana cemetery. I don't remember the reason, but his grave picture was added to his mother's memorial along with her gravestone picture (Lovina Louisa Opp) Her findagrave record is Memorial# 10283129.

However, I'm unable to remove his picture from her record. Can you please try to see if you can remove Alvin's gravestone picture from her records? Thanks. LInda

RE: Agnello
You are quite welcome. I did look for a few of the others; the few I looked for were unmarked. I couldn't narrow down the exact locations since I was by myself, but I'll make sure we get photos when we go out again as a team.

RE: Westminister Cemetery
Hi Nina: You're right, it does take alot of time. I thought I would be glad when I finished the 3,500 graves in Memories, but I got so used to being busy nights entering, cropping etc. that now I'm bored. I was going to take the fall and winter off, but now I think I will just slow down the pace and today I started on Apostles because I had to go to the cemetery to fulfill a request. I've been emailing everyone that asks for photos and telling them that they will have to call and post the plot information if they would like a photo. About 50% of the people will do it. I've already had emails from people who have found their memorials in Memories. We are doing alot of good. Keep up the good work. Whatever you can get done is a help to someone out there. Keep in touch. Christy

Hi Nina - How goes your project? I completed the Memories Section about a week ago and another volunteer is almost finished with Good Shepherd. I have also completed the very, very small Veterans Section and am starting on Apostles next week. I'm not going to work quite as hard over the fall and winter as my tenditis is acting up in my forearms--to much clicking with the mouse. Keep in touch. Christy

Sounds like we all have a plan. No, I'm not putting a grave location because it's just too confusing to figure out. I do put the section they are in when I post the photo. At first I was also looking them all up on the CA Death records and putting complete birth and date info etc, but that is just slowing down the process, so I quit that after row 3 and things are going alittle faster. With 3500 graves to do, it would take too long and I think our whole purpose is to get as many graves photographed and memorials made as possible.

As a side note, this morning I got a call from the cemetery saying that they will no longer look up graves for non family members unless you pay $50. How disgusting is that. So there will be no more volunteer photos from that cemetery unless the relatives can call and get the information and I'm not sure they will even fill photo requests.

Hi Nina: How are you doing on your section? I'm plugging away on mine. Didn't realize the section was so large. I estimate it has 3500 graves in it and I'm about 1/4 of the way through them. This will take me months but well worth it. I don't think I'll be working on request for this cemetery anymore as I think they are tired of seeing me even though I only came in once a week. Last week they took the names I brought and said they would call with the information, but didn't. So I think that is a message that they aren't going to cooperate anymore. Too bad, I feel sorry for relatives requesting lookups in this cemetery. However, our projects should help in time. There have been over 1000 memorials added to this cemetery in the last month.
