Bio and Links
Mainly located in Ulster and Columbia Counties in New York.

Please do not request to add a birth date calculated from the gravestone, unless the complete age is known or listed (y/m/d). Dates that do not agree with stone and are not primary sourced will be placed in the bio section or declined.

Transfer requests must be submitted via a SAC and must provide the exact relationship and be within guidelines.
Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested if you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree outside guidelines is not grounds for a management transfer request. Transfer requests that do not include relationship to deceased or are out of guidelines are deleted.

Upon request, personal use of photos will be given with proper credit or a findagrave link.

Sorry, I had to remove my email as to many incomplete requests were being sent instead of using a SAC.

FAG memorial 17474632
I have added a picture of an early journal article about this Capt. David Hand and his five wives an the noteworthy inscription apparently on the gravestone of third wife Hannah Hand (died 1798). The story is often repeated but details vary. I have contacted the Sag Harbor Historical Society to see what might be resolved. I may be feeding you more information regarding the six associated graves at Oakland Cemetery in Sag Harbor, NY. Tim Martin.

I was looking at a message you wrote regarding Jacob Harder and noticed you included the Zion Evang. Luth. Ch., Loonenburg (Athens) and Squampamock (Ghent). It took me a while to discover that Loonenburg was indeed Athens and while I've seen references to Squampamock (or at least something similar) I had not made the connection to Ghent.

Do you know of any reference that cross indexes 17th and 18th century Hudson Valley placenames to the current versions?

Speaking of that I often see references to Dutch Reformed or Lutheran Churches as St. Something without reerence to location, i.e., where is St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Is there a reference for early HV churches?

Any information or suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,

Bruce

Phebe Miller
Hi, Im a little confused by your Phebe Miller, she was my 4th Great Grandmother, and married Joshua Whitney, she was the daughter of Peleg and Phebe (Sherrill) Miller. You have her as being married to a Barnes, and buried in a different cemetery and county, I believe she is buried in the same cemetery as her husband joshua and parents.
