Wishing to honor in some proper way those who have gone before us, I endeavor to give a sense of the life and times of our ancestors...|
For entries I've made that are incomplete, I need feedback & info from visitors to the actual grave sites, so I might fill in the data more completely... Actual transcriptions from the markers are most welcomed!
Looks to be a long haul...
Hope my contributions help someone out, especially those who may not have found their information any other way...
P.S. - So very many thanks to all who have helped out thus far... The world is brighter because YOU CARE!

|Mike Cronk||Henry M. Rose - Oakhill Cemetery|
Good Morning Jeff,
Thanks for the biographical sketch on Henry M. Rose from "Men of Progress". I have added it to his 'Find A Grave' memorial with the citation as to its source.
I appreciate your bringing Henry Rose's biographical sketch to my attention and for adding his photo illustration to the memorial. In some sense, it is like giving him back the breath of life and in some measure assuring his memory will live on.

|James Noble||Kkatherine Englehart Dobson|
are your kin to her?
Do you have any information on this courser line? my line is the Thompson line. From Fenwick, Michigan. There was a Chester Maynard Courser , that married a Myrtle L Thompson.? Was in a war. All buried in Clear Lake Cemetary on Brown street. He worked in a cheese factory and owned a funeral home? My mom is Myrtle's niece. Ferris Earl Thompson is my grandpa. Married a Dorothea C Lozar Maybe? Ferris did. Any help would be great. I have old pictures of some of these people.
|Linda Hiross||Isaac Singer|
Jeff: I don't know how deep your Singer research goes, but the Stetson genealogies gives his mother's name as Ruth Benson; I have yet to find a published biography on Isaac on the internet that names her, but Rev. John Barry does so in his Stetson genealogy. She descends from Cornet Robert Stetson who settled in Norwell, MA about 1640. Another interesting tidbit in case you have an interest. Linda
|Linda Hiross||Charles Mathews|
Jeff: Thanks for forwarding the newspaper clips on Charles. An unfortunate life to be sure, and very complicated family. Linda
|Timothy Cutter||RE: Rufus Lee photo?|
Rufus is a relative of mine.
father Edward Cutter
g father Edward L Cutter sr,
gg mother Mary Emma Gilbert
ggg mother Mary Williams Lee
gggg father Rufus Lee married Mary Hallowell
Going through some old small portraits in an oval frame from my E L Cutter Sr estate, I took photos out of frames in order to scan them. On the back of two prints was written Polly Lee and on the other was written Rufus Lee.
Polly was sister of Rufus,

Hey Jeff, When my system crashed I lost your e-mail. You posted an image (looks like an engraving from a book) of Hervey Parke. What was the source of that image?
|Janet K||Thomas & Margaret Simpson|
I see that you manage Thomas and Margaret Simpson in Oakwood Cemetery in Saginaw, MI.
I recently took a few photos there and found:
John G Simpson (Find A Grave Memorial# 73315427)
, who you also manage...shares a plot with:
Sarah Simpson (Find A Grave Memorial# 130539346)
and I. Simpson (Find A Grave Memorial# 130539214).
While none of these individuals have a headstone/marker, they all seem to have some connection to Thomas Simpson as noted in cemetery records and the fact that they share the same plot as John. Sarah and I.'s cemetery records both make reference to Thomas...see individual memorials.
Just for what it's worth....

Hi, I found an article on Byron Lloyd in one of the Jackson County Newspapers. Would you like a copy. Jen
