Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a retired federal employee who fell into doing some online research for a friend of mine - a McKenzie - and now I'm in so deep I can't get out! Most of you probably know the feeling. But it's a harmless obsession which I enjoy so I'll stick with it until I pull out the rest of my disappearing hair. I try to post most of my findings on Find A Grave so if you're interested in the McKenzie family who settled in central Missouri after emigrating from North Carolina via Kentucky, just enter the last name - mckenzie - in the box to the right and take a look! As for my own family, some surnames would be Fallas, Fallass, Bray, Oechsli, Mills - all of those in the northeastern quadrant of the lower 48 - and, on the Swedish side, Nilsson and Waldemarsson in the province of Skåne län.

Thanks for the info. I don't know where Carl is buried. I'm still hunting for that. Marcella is my dad's 1st cousin.
Thanks again,
Karen

Hey, Tom! The two cemeteries are the same and it's known by two different names.

RE: Info on Harvard Cemetery
True but I thought it was asking a lot of him/her to call, get the code and then take the photos. I was thinking it would take some of the burden off him/her.

RE: Info on Harvard Cemetery
Tom, would you be able to call Ellen Miller and get the code for the lock? I'm not able to do it. That would help TJ out.

RE: Info on Harvard Cemetery
Tom, I contacted TJ who has taken a pic of another relative of mine at Harvard. Here is the link so you can contact him for your photo. He/She said he would go check out the cemetery. Seems there are a few photo requests for there.

RE: Info on Harvard Cemetery
Hi Tom,

I just contacted another contributor from here who took a different photo from Harvard to let him know what I found out.

Here is my contact in Cleveland for the cemetery. I emailed her for the lock code but never heard back. I haven't had a chance to call.

RE: Mary Esther Miriam Miretzky Papurt in Harvard Cemetery
Hi. I was just travelling by and wanted to advise the relatives on the sad state of the cemetery. I live out of town. If I ever move back there I will get over there to get the photos.

Info on Harvard Cemetery
I am in touch with Ellen Miller at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland about this. She told me:

The grass is overgrown at the cemetery, but it is being taken care of. The perpetual funds that the synagogues had ran out, or depleted a lot, and they were no longer able to keep up the cemetery. The Federation will be taking over maintenance of the cemetery. The cemetery is locked for security. People who want to visit are given the code to get in.

Phone: 216-593-2900 ext. 142
Direct Dial: 216-593-2825

I left a message for the person who let us know about this to see if she wants to look into this.

I emailed Ellen to find out how someone gets the code to the lock but I did not hear back. I have not had the chance to call her because of the time change (I'm in Ca.)

Hopefully we can get the photos we want. There is a photo of another relative of mine taken at Harvard a few years back so hopefully they'll get this taken care of soon.

RE: Jeremiah Nay
I'm sorry, Tom. This memorial is not under my management. But I believe you can add the photo yourself now. You're right, it is much better.
