| Tilghman Memorial Cemetery
Francis, I am related to every person buried in Tilghman Memorial Cemetery (my mother, grandmother, g-parents, g-grandparents/aunts & uncles, etc.). Evidently the cemetery had another name years ago and I was listing memorials under the new name back when I was less knowledgeable about find-a-grave. At some point the cemeteries must have been murged under the newer cemetery name. Fortunately, as a result, while I was working on linking my family members up with each other, I noticed that several, or many of my memorials are duplicates of yours. Therefore, I am going to be working on putting my photos on your memorials and deleting my duplicates. I have a bunch of family links on the memorials I will be deleting, so I hope it's okay if I provide you with those links so you can add them to your memorials. | | | Pat Carby

Gilbert Sabastian Paipa, 64, of Warner Springs died Saturday. He was born on the Inaja Indian Reservation and worked in golf maintenance at Warner Springs Ranch.
He was a member of the Inaja Cosmit Band of Mission Indians.
Survivors include his stepdaughters, Patricia Sexton and Elizabeth Ragsdale of Escondido and Josephine Royer of Yucca Valley; stepsons, Howard Maxcy Sr. and Donald and Brian Beresford, all of the Mesa Grande Indian Reservation; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing: 6 to 8 p.m. today, with rosary at 7 p.m. tomorrow, Alhiser-Comer Mortuary, 225 S. Broadway, Escondido.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, graveside, Inaja Indian Cemetery.

Well, there is no office. There's a farmhouse, possibly nuns or spinsters tend the place. Chickens, mules, turkeys, lamas everywhere. The lady that came out when she saw me climbing the fence was nice, warned me about needing the plastic bat. I asked the same question, she seemed used to it and simply said "they keep the grass down." She told me that the minister that set up the cemetery made no provisions for perpetual care, so the place fell into neglect. There is no church around, and I have no idea who administers the place. | | | Rich Dohm

Yes, I did notice the headstone looked modern. And headstones DO lie, but not often. I just noticed the years and wanted to point it out to you.
But look, you mentioned "glad to hear it's cleaned up?" No way. The picture on the cem page is deceiving. The place is completely returned to nature except the front end which is a mule pen. And the mule bites. The nun gave me a plastic baseball bat and said to claim my space. I did. Most all the pictures I posted were from the deep woods.
There were dozen of large markers downed that one man could never lift, but I managed to flip hundreds for pictures. I put some pictures up for you to see, check link below.
