Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing family research since the late 1970's. I have been associated with the Jefferson County (KS) Genealogical Society, being the organizing President and since served in that capacity two more times. I live in Winchester, Kansas. My wife, Marie and I have been married 64 years. We have four living children, 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. My family research interests are many, but especially Riley, Nettleton, Curry and Fulton. We have many ancestors buried in Atchison and Jefferson Counties, Kansas. In addition, I have served the United Methodist Church as organist for the past 50 years and have served the Winchester and Jefferson County North Schools as statistician for over 60 years. I was the Director of the Winchester Public Library at the time the present building was constructed.

Please contact me if you find a direct relative's memorial I manage, and would like to have the memorial transferred. Please include your Find a Grave ID # with any requests. If you find any errors or wish to have me add additional information to a memorial, please let me know.

Bud Pottorf # 98737221
Raymond, thank you for the memorial site on Marlin "Bud" Pottorf. Is it possible for you to transfer his site to me? I am interested in putting his obituary on the site.

I am a first cousin, once removed, of Bud Pottorf.

Ola Burgoyne # 96630437
Raymond, I would suggest that Ola's surname of Harris be included in this memorial site. Her parents named her Viola, but apparently she preferred Ola as indicated on the cemetery stone. The following is her obituary for posting on her memorial site:

"The McLouth Times," 5 Dec. 1940, page 5, col. 3: Obituary of Mrs. Wesley Burgoyne:

Viola Harris was born near McLouth, Kansas, April 7, 1886 and passed away in Topeka, Kansas November 24, 1940 at the age of 54 years, 7 months and 17 days.

Early in life she united with the Baptist church and later transferred her membership to the Methodist church. She was active in church work and especially enjoyed bringing cheer to those who were sick or in need.

Surviving the deceased are: her mother, Claribel Harris of Topeka; her husband, Wesley Burgoyne of McLouth; two sisters, Mrs. Jeff Barnes of Lawrence and Mrs. Sidney Long of Topeka; one daughter, Mrs. Henry Bragg of Peoria, Illinois; one son, Harold Bradford of McLouth; six grandchildren, William, Wilda and Edviva Jene Bragg of Peoria, Illinois, and Richard, Perry and Clyde Thomas Bradford of McLouth; and other relatives and friends who will miss the one who has gone away.
