I have been doing family research since the late 1970's. I have been associated with the Jefferson County (KS) Genealogical Society, being the organizing President and since served in that capacity two more times. I live in Winchester, Kansas. My wife, Marie and I have been married 63 years. We have four living children, 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. My family research interests are many, but especially Riley, Nettleton, Curry and Fulton. We have many ancestors buried in Atchison and Jefferson Counties, Kansas. In addition, I have served the United Methodist Church as organist for the past 50 years and have served the Winchester and Jefferson County North Schools as statistician for over 60 years. I was the Director of the Winchester Public Library at the time the present building was constructed. |

Thanks for the edits for Louis. He's on my list to research next week at the KSHS --- I'll be adding his obit and cemetery info. I recently updated Hattie Casebier's page in the same cemetery.

Many thanks for the obituary! The photo of James was sent to me and I was looking for confirmation that this is the correct person, perhaps from a close family member. Am I correct in thinking that James did not have children?
He is not my family but I did photograph the grave.

Wife of Moses McCarty, do you know if they had a daughter named Susan Catherine McCarty? She married an Alfred T. Jones.
|Topeka Tom||Burial Dates|
You asked me several months ago whether the death dates shown in the Valley Falls Cemetery roster are in fact burial dates. At the time, I didn't think so.
From the sheer number of corrections you have made, nearly all just a few days, I think I was wrong!
|John "Mike" Kinsey||Mrs Adkins|
RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 102537723
Are we sure this is a "Mrs"?
I'm looking for a Orin Adkins, that I suspect died in Jefferson County about 1861. I know the year is 30 years off. I don't know for a fact that Orin died then, I just know that's about the time his wife got a new husband, after 3 children, so I'm guessing and reaching for straws.
Any insight you might have, will be appreciated, or any leads on this Orin Adkins.

Thanks so much, Raymond. I was really happy to find it there today.

I am asking permission to use your photos of the grave of Isaac D. Huntsberger who was a private in Company A 120th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. I would like to include the photos on his page in my research of the 120th OVI. Eventually the research will go to a library. I always give credit for the photos.
