Bio Photo A native of Louisville, Kentucky, I've lived since 1998 in the Historic Licking Riverside Neighborhood of Covington directly across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. My grandmother Luetta Deitchman Crenshaw (1927-1990) cultivated an interest in our ancestry, and she was especially interested in her Anglo-Catholic forbears in colonial Maryland. I have definitely followed in her footsteps in that regard. After being sponsored by my cousin Crolian William Edelen (1920-2006), I was accepted as a member of The National Society of Descendants of Lords of the Maryland Manors. Another cousin through the Edelen family, Benedict Joseph Webb (1814-1897), was the author of The Centenary of Catholicity in Kentucky (Louisville, 1884) and was a determined opponent of The Know-Nothing Party. After a lengthy hiatus I am returning to research the family of our ancestor Philip Edelen (1598-1657), rector of St John Zachary and St Michael Bassishaw, London, and Denham, Buckinghamshire, especially that of his wife's parents, Thomas Offley (1564-1630), esquire, and Anne Clitherow Offley (1576-1637), who were buried in the vault of St Andrew Undershaft Church, London. Also pursuing the family of Anne's great-grandfather Roger Chaloner (d. 1550), esquire, who was buried beneath his pew in the chancel of the Church of St Dunstan in the East, London.

One of my favorite discoveries, albeit on the Protestant side of my family, was locating the burial place of my 4th-great-grandmother Sarah Ann Timberlake Woodfin (1809-1855), who died during a yellow fever epidemic in Norfolk, Virginia, and whose 5th-great-grandparents, Thomas Symes (1621-1670) and his wife Amy Bridges Symes (1621-1662), were buried in a vault beneath the chancel of St Michael's Church at Winterbourne in Gloucestershire.
