Marshall L Siler #19770796
Hi Dave - FYI regarding this memorial. I just finished my research on Marshall and placed a split flag to his profile on Ancestry. (half Union and half Confederate). Marshall enlisted in the 39th Georgia on 4 Mar 1862 and deserted sometime prior to Aug 1864. Made his way to Missouri and enlisted in the 48th Missouri on 13 Aug 1864. Served with the 48th until muster out in Jun 1865.

That what I found on Alfred Perry, Malachi's father, but I haven't anything to confirm tha Malachi was in the 55th TN Infantry. Do you have any information on Malachi's service?? Thank You!!!

Malachi Perry #14625722
I was referred to you for information on the Confederate service of Malachi Perry. He was my g-g-grandfather & was in Louisiana during the War & only 13 when it began. I believe that his father, Alfred Perry was in the 28th La Infantry at Vicksburg. Any information would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

David, I am submitting new memorial numbers. I discovered their memorials, with a few minor errors, had been created earlier by another researcher.

Hi David....I see you posted the photo for the Wallace Cemetery and was wondering do you also do Headstone Memorial photo's. There are 3 Headstone Photo Requests for this Cemetery, 2 submitted in 2014 & one in 2015....It would be nice if these Photo Request could be addressed before they age any longer. I'm specifically interested in the Headstone for Archie Boone Memorial #132935889...Any help you could provide would be great. Thanks so much...lookyloo

RE: Memorial #19812950
Hi Dave,
I just got my answer from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission! Here's what they sent to me today...

"Your request for information was received by the staff of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.

Confederate pension application number 21816 for W. J. Hicks of Cass County contains a deposition of William Allison dated February 17, 1911. Allison’s deposition indicates W. J. Hicks enlisted in Company D of Good’s Battalion for the year 1864 at Mount Pleasant, Texas. Hicks’ pension application also contains a deposition of C. W. Wright dated February 18, 1911. Wright’s deposition indicates W. J. Hicks served until June of the year 1865.

Should you wish to continue your research on Good’s Battalion, you may wish to contact the Historical Research Center at Hill College’s Texas Heritage Museum in Hillsboro, Texas. Their holdings include a number of unit histories. Contact information may be found on their Web site at:"

Thank you so much for trying to help me. I really appreciate it!!
