I've been doing genealogy since 1979.
I'm from Indiana but now live in Kentucky after my husband Steve of 35 yrs passed away in 2005. So now I spend time putting family info on here. I feel it's an act of love and I can come visit any time I want.
I have 2 dogs Fefe who is 17yrs old and Charlie is a year old, Scooter is my crazy cat. They are not just my pets, they are my kids.
Trixie, Fefe's sister passed away in May 2011, she was my shadow and now Charlie is.
Fefe passed away in Sept, almost 18 yrs old.
I also write poetry and make jewelry, flower arrangements.
I'm researching McColley/Sosbe, Neal/Baughman, Trees, Hills Trowbridge, Branyan, Hook, Yemmons, Johnson, all kinds of spellings for Sosbe,
Thank you all for putting a memorial on my family's graves, they are appreciated God bless.
Also if I have any family and you are closer related to that person, I will be happy to transfer them to you.
And if you have any info I'll be glad to add it.
God bless and keep you,
Janet McColley Franklin

I just went thru the newspaper and found that Mrs. Casey's burial place was in Fairview cemetery. It can be found on page 1 of the Tipton Daily Tribune, Feb. 5, 1926. Her obituary was on page 8 of the same paper.

My husband's great-grandmother was married to Jesse McColley. Because of this relationship, my mother-in-law knew Cynthia and attended her funeral, and so, was certain that Cynthia was buried in Fairview cemetery by her husband. A good many widows don't have headstones. The husbands usually had one if they had served in the military.
We have excellent cemetery records (although the earlier ones are rather spotty) and obits in Tipton county.
Hope this helps,
Catie and Will

You are so right about the mistakes that just keep going forever! I try to make sure I have accurate data and make corrections whenever I find mistakes. Many others are not too concerned about accuracy. I've been doing genealogy as a hobby since I was a young teenager and learned over the years how very important having the correct data can be. I've found obituaries published several days (or even years) before the date of death on tombstones and yet the contributors sometimes don't believe it. I don't see how an obituary can be published in the newspaper BEFORE a person dies. :-) I don't push it, but do give them the info. It is more common that I had ever realized to have the wrong dates on tombstones. An older genealogist told me that in olden days, it might be several years before a tombstone could be purchased and by then, the dates were often "blurred" in the family's memory.
I'm retiring from my job on Jan. 1. YAY! If I can ever help in any way, just let me know.

|Carol Guinn Jenkins||Matthias Hook|
Thanks Janet for the transfer of Matthias Hook.
The only time I saw his name as Matthias was on a census and I thought maybe the census taker just did not know how to spell his name or heard it wrong. I have never heard anyone else call him that.
I wish there was a bible record of his birth, maybe it would be recorded there as Martin Matthias. My grandmother never called her grandfather anything but Matthias Hook.

Thank you Janet. It was a shock for all of us. She seemed to be doing good. We thought she was going to pull through it. She was always nice to me too. We all miss her dearly but are very happy that she is no longer sick.
Thank you so very much Janet for all the information you put on the Memorials for the different Sosbe families!!!! Rebecca Anne Sosbe Collins Kemp was my gg-grandmother, but, except for her and her parents, I knew very little about the Sosbe's and their lines. You have added so much to my genealogy!!!. Thank you so much for caring and taking the time and effort to add your knowledge to Memorials which in turn helps others. Have a Blessed Day!!!!

I believe I uploaded a pic of someone else's gravestone to Rhoda Haggards' while I was doing my uploading tonight. I am new and I don't yet know how to remove a pic or ask it to be removed. I AM SO SORRY!! Please let me know if there is anything I can do to fix this or if there is other protocols in place.
