Bio and Links
Bio Photo "He who careth not from whence he came careth little whither he goeth." - Daniel Webster

This is a quote my father, T'Odon Charles Leshikar attached to the front of one of his family trees. He was passionate about recording names, dates, relationships of family members. At every family reunion he spread out his sheets encouraging everyone to see where they were and make sure the correct spelling, date of birth, marriage and death of every one was included. The last week of his life we spent retyping and entering corrections on all his trees (the numbers are impressive!) and then sent copies to each of his first cousins - including a distant cousin in Czechoslovakia (Czech Republic).

Using these trees, I am trying to track down and source each and every family member as well as add the newer ones. Finding the graves, seeing the headstones, sharing information, showing relationships and from one spot being able to leave a remembrance - my father would have loved websites like Find A Grave.

And then there are the treasures to be found –

This is the inscription from the headstone of my ancestors Josef Jirasek and Rosalie Balcar Jirasek who brought their family from Czechoslovakia to Texas in 1867.

"Here rest, a couple who loved each other,
after a long and arduous journey
through the byways of the world.
Laid here for their eternal sleep.
Completed is your life. Rest in Peace."

Please do not post death certificates on the memorials I have created. I feel strongly that this is not the place for them.

Duebbe Family
Hi Nancy,

Malinda Duebbe Bittner (117093691) is my gg-grandmother, I have some links you might be interested in adding. You have her mother Isabel Wehrmann Duebbe (44918786), Malinda's father is Wilhelm Dubbe (78729646). Another sister of Malinda's is Maud Sophronia Hergotz (26214739) she went by Sophie. Also, Isabel's father is Johann Wehrmann (77609879) his birth date is listed as 1781, it is actually 1791. Hope this helpful. Thank you for all the work you are doing.

I am Nancy Marek, my grandparents came from Tura Luka, Czech. I know very little else about them.My grandfather's name was John Marek B 1885, grandmother was Elizabeth Provaznick. They settled in Danbury ct. No one ever kept any records, and all family members are deceased.I never knew if they left people over there. Any help I would be so happy to hear from you.

Phil Grimmett
Milton Dusek
I bought a canteen that had Milton's and 2 other names on it. You may or may not know that Milton was a Death March survivor. The other 2 names were Jack Elliott, who survived with Milton, and Richard Dysinger who unfortunately died in the camp. They were in different units but were all 3 shipped to the same camp in China from Bataan. The name of Bataan was also carved on the canteen.

RE: Thach Photos
Nancy
Your welcome. It could be they may have one of the markers that are just rocks. I did go in the wooded area & search for more stones. But the Thach stones seem to all be in 1 area.

Regards
Michelle
