I am a native of Omaha, Nebraska. I got started studying my genealogy when my uncle presented my family with a notebook containing photos and notes on my paternal grandmother's origins in Germany by way of rural Missouri. I was fascinated, and it planted the seed in me which blossomed into a passion for history and culture.|
- Paternal grandfather's relatives
- Paternal grandmother's relatives
- Maternal relatives
I am amassing virtual cemeteries of my relatives. If I request management of a page, it is because the person was a relative, and I want to provide links and information on that person on a long-term basis. I'm especially interested in linking infants' graves to their parents, since these children often go unrecorded in census records, genealogies, etc. I DO NOT collect non-relatives as a rule, nor do I do bulk surname searches. I will gladly transfer grave management to anyone who requests it who can first demonstrate a closer relationship to the deceased than mine. Do not hesitate to ask.
*UPDATE 10/31/2011: I recently acquired a bunch of Coates (with an S) from Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio. I cleaned them up and linked them, but I'm not related to them, and I didn't request them. Can a relative come forward to claim them please? Thank you.
**UPDATE 04/18/2013: I have finished my genealogical research on several family branches that I have acquired but am not directly related to. From here on, I am seeking direct descendants or close relatives to take over management of the following families: Bockoven, Jacobberger, Majnarič/Majnarich/Mainarich/Maynarich/Minarich, and Mladinič/Mladenich/Mladinich. Thanks! :)

I've transferred her memorial to you & I've also completed some more of your photo requests. I'll finish the rest of your photo requests sometime today (12/04/2013).

I've posted your requested picture for John Hassett. There is only a family headstone and no individual stones at all. There are also no individuals listed on the family headstone. John is in grave 7. The cemetery office could probably give you a list of those buried in the Hassett lot.

FYI Nazareth Cemetery has been moved
Sisters of St. Joseph's Nazareth Cemetery to close; nursing home will remain open
Created 06/18/2009 - 8:34am
Submitted on June 18, 2009
The cemetery, established in 1874, will be closed due to perpetual care requirements
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet are closing Nazareth Cemetery in South County.
The remains of approximately 1,200 sisters buried at Nazareth are being moved to a plot the sisters have at Resurrection Cemetery, which is part of the Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Nazareth Living Center, the sisters' retirement home adjacent to the cemetery, will remain open.
The project began June 1. The initial moving phase is expected to be completed by mid-September. New grave markers will be laid at Resurrection Cemetery by the spring or summer of 2010.
A prayer service was held at Nazareth on Pentecost Sunday, May 31, to mark its closure.
The Sisters of St. Joseph decided to close the cemetery due to the province's long term ability to provide the perpetual care required to maintain it. The area will be used for future needs as identified by the province.

Trish, I was a little premature in the previous reply. Kenneth and Shirley are with LaVonne (1912-1983), Goldie (1886-1929) and C.Ferne (1879-1953). The stones all being identical. I found a group photo in my files to confirm the above. Ruth

Well, no, as far as being near each other. Some are buried in block 2 and others in block 4, with one being buried in block 3. Interesting that some the owners of the lots were Nuzums, and Coppocks. I believe I have all of the Coates on Findagrave. And
I did not find a stone for John F. Coates 1862-1894 (yet). D.H. (Davis Harlan)Coates is the only one in block 3.

Trish, I have found stones that I think are Coate, but would like your opinion. I have Kenneth H., son, 1928 - 1931;and Shirley J., dau., 1926 - 1927. They look like Coate stones and for some reason, I think they are. What do you think? Ruth

I am very sorry but I could not find graves for the Bode family that you requested at Fairmount. Today - praise the Lord - I finished taking pictures of every grave that is in any way readable in this cemetery. I will put a picture of the general area where they are buried. Ruth
Hello, I have posted pictures for them... please see the caption s on the photos for more info.
