Just letting all of you know that on or about 3-27-2013, I took a really hard cardiovascular hit; spent a month at local medical facility; as I become stronger, will continue with Find-A-Grave but it may take a while to do all that needs to be done; would appreciate your patience with me.

Hello Everyone!

I have a LOT of work to do! .. and "I think I can do that"! (quoting you-know-who when she was starring in a movie and was told, "All you have to do is walk into the church", or something close to that - I think it was 'walk into a church' - been awhile since I've seen it).

Sorry I've "been away" for such a long period of time! I am hoping to receive a new computer in the not-too-distant future as this one appears to be on its last 'gig-a-byte' .. it occasionally works but, most often, 'occasionally DOES NOT'; thus, the reason I've been unable to make corrections, answer e-mails, etc.

For all of you who have said prayers for me and sent messages re. my health, my sincere "Thank You" to each of you.

Thanks to my Precious Lord Jesus Christ, I am now doing well. What happened to me? I died 3-27-2013 about 15 minutes after I sat down at the computer. My daughter heard a small plastic item hit the tile floor and, thinking 'some books had fallen' called out from the living room, "Mom, are you o.k.? (X 2) and, when I didn't answer, came from the living room to check on me and found me lying in the floor very dead and, while calling 911 EMS, she immediately began the chest compressions which were continued by EMS when they arrived; I was taken to the local medical center and someone came to my daughter immediately and said, "This is grave, you need to call your family". Following what I refer to as "receiving the ice-water baptism" (I was frozen) and "having my throat cut" (ventilator) and, "sleeping" for about 12 days/nights, I awakened one afternoon about 3:00 PM, wide-awake, no pain, flat of my back "with hoses and tubes everywhere", still on the ventilator, and was immediately told by my daughter and sister what had happened to me. After about an hour, they went home (having been there 'round the clock) and the doctorS began coming in and telling me what had happened and that I was now known as the "miracle at St. Mary's", one of the doctors telling me, "We know what happened - your heart quit beating but we don't know why" and one telling me that only 1 in 5 usually survive what had happened to me ... and some people did ask me, and still do, if I saw 'a bright light' or 'went through a dark tunnel' to which I answer, "No, but, when I woke up, I felt like I had had the best night's sleep I could ever remember" (12 days/nights - no wonder I felt 'rested'!) .. and, having said all that, "I PERSONALLY know Who holds tomorrow and I know WHO holds my hand". He truly is Magnificent, Majestic - He has been, for many years, and will ALWAYS be my LORD! .. and to all my beautiful family members/friends at Find-A-Grave, please don't forget Psm. 23 and meditate on each of its phrases, .. green pastures .. still waters .. THROUGH the valley of the shadow of death (and do I fully understand that one!), etc., etc. .. and I ask Him to bless each of you every day of your lives ... Love to All of You, Della

Curry Family
Hello Ms Lilly. I live in Alkol, in Lincoln County WV. I wanted to let you know that James Lewis Curry and his father Andrew Irvin Curry are not buried in the same cemetery. The one James Lewis Curry is buried in did not exist at the time of Andrews death. Andrew probably is buried here but not in that cemetery. I made a map of this cemetery walking thru it with James Currys grandsons Charley and Perry Huffman. I'd be happy to help with anything else I can. Thanks. Rodney

Find A Grave Memorial# 78089665 appears to be the same as the following memorial.

I suggest that you move the memorial to the same location and then request at "edit@findagrave.com" to merge the same profiles.

I hope this information helps you

RE: Cotton Hill Cemetery
Oh wow! I would love to hear some of the things he said about it. I went up one time in early 90's to try and visit Elzie Johnson. I must have missed him. And the other time I tried he was in Florida. the previous time I think he was in Ohio.
Then the next year, I heard that he had passed. I only had my uncle Fred tell me a few things about the reunion, and I think Hobert Crum has told me a little.
I thank you for getting back with me. You do such great work on here. It's nice to see someone that does the cemeteries over in the Kermit, Stonecoal, Jennie's Creek area.
Not many of them have been done.
I just had to post that cemetery since it was my great granddad's land and I guess he maintained it. There are a couple of people there I still am not sure who they are or how the might work in.
Take care, and would love to hear back from you.

RE: MAYNARD CEMETERY; PHELPS CEMETERY
Directions to Maynard Cemetery in Breeden, WV. Take US Route 152 South out of Huntington, WV for about 42 miles (go through Wayne, WV and continue on south). Turn left at Missouri Branch onto 12 Pole Road [[[ This left turn is marked by signs pointing the way to Cabwaylingo State Park. You'll drive through the park passing the park's office, and crossing the Lora Fleming Bridge a little ways out the other side of the park. ]]] Stay on this same road and keep going until you cross another bridge and about 200 yards up from the bridge on your right see a white building with a porch that says "Zion Church". If you look to your left while in front of Zion Church, you'll see a dirt road leading up a hill. There should be a wooden sign at the bottom of the dirt road that says Maynard Cemetery. Take that dirt road up to the cemetery. There's a camper on top of the hill in front of the cemetery. It belongs to the man who owns the land the cemetery is on.

The first cemetery you come to is Maynard's Cemetery. It covers most of the area on top of the hill. If you stand with your back to the camper looking up the slope of the cemetery, to the right and at the top of the slope is Phelps Cemetery. It's much, much smaller than Maynard's. You shouldn't have any problem distinguishing it from Maynard's once you're there.

I hope this helps.

RE: MAYNARD, Walter & Hattie
Hello Della,
I have transferred Walter and Hattie Maynard's memorials to your management. If I can assist again, please do not hesitate to ask. Honoring our ancestors and helping others connect with them is why I create memorials and fulfill photo requests.
Blessings,
Paul Clary
