Bio Photo UPDATE: We have recently been given maintenance rights to the memorials listed in the 03. Maple Grove - Transfers virtual cemetery by a member who no longer wished to maintain them. Will transfer any of these to anyone who expresses an interest. Thanks!

We have been researching our family for about 30 years and have traveled to several states for genealogy. Many of our memorials are for "extended" family members, but others are not. We hope someone finds the information we post helpful in their own research.

Except for those photos listed within our *Posted with Permission* virtual cem, every tombstone or cemetery photo we post was taken by us on the date indicated in the photo caption.

FIND A GRAVE PHOTO POLICY:
-- All contributor-posted photographs are intended for PERSONAL USE, unless stated otherwise. To comply with current Copyright Law, you SHOULD NOT post (and/or republish) any contributor's cemetery or tombstone photos elsewhere without permission.

-- As contributors retain the copyright on ALL photos that they have taken and posted, it is actually NOT acceptable to just indicate you took the photo from Find A Grave (since this site does not own the copyright to any of the contributor-posted photographs).

Regarding our cemetery and tombstone photographs, specifically...

-- We will allow most instances of unaltered OTHER USE, but with the added stipulation that you MUST provide a photo source citation (by referencing both "Find A Grave" [or www.findagrave.com] AND our profile name AND # in the Description) for any of our photographs taken from this website; for example, "Photo courtesy of Find A Grave Contributor: Law-Miller Roots (#47103448)".

-- Note that you can provide a link back to the Find A Grave memorial, instead of copying (i.e. Ancestry's built-in "weblinks" function can be used for this exact purpose). This option works quite well.

-- Please do not download and then republish any family portraits we post, as these come from private family collections. Some of these photos still enjoy copyright protection and are NOT in the public domain.

NOTE: If we've submitted a memorial that you want to make corrections to, or if you would like a memorial transferred (and we're not also related in some way) let us know via the Edit Tab and we'll take care of it asap.

Sowers #151063759
I noticed you have posted a lot of the Sowers family graves at the Ohl Cemetery in Jefferson Co. I recently photographed the entire Zion Cemetery on Zion Rd in Beaver Twp. Jefferson Co. I have a grave photo posted, but unable to read. Hoped you would have some thoughts.

Mary U Wilson Smathers Memorial # 42538167
Via Google, I found a PDF file documenting the Waldo family. In this PDF file/book, it states that her name is Mary Ursula Wilson. The name of the book/PDF is Genealogy of the Waldo Family.

Marilyn, thank you for sending me a message, I actually am the person that found this large mess and have been going through the OLD and asking contributors to move. Kind of funny to see some I put there, late nights I guess. Yes your story is true and glad that Find A Grave is fixing the issue.

Take care, Bev

William Raymond Yarger
I removed William from parents John Yarger and Elizabeth Douthett. My mistake - I realized it after I linked them together, and forgot to go back and correct his memorial. I did more research after that. I am trying to find the death and burial info for his parents John Yarger and Elizabeth Ann Fouts? (not sure of her name). Can you possibly put a light on that. Thanx for catching the mistake. Judy

Millard Fillmore Smathers
Hi -- I just received a copy of the obit for Millard from the Butler Area Public Library. It does not mention his parents, but it does mention both of his wives, his first wife being Margaret Allen of Westmoreland county. His widow, who survives, was Mary Wilson of Punxsutawney. It also mentions his 3 children. You show his first wife as Margaret Irwin, where did you find this information? Can I get a copy from you?
