From NEHGR v.13, p300 (1909): North Sheldon, VT Gravestone Inscriptions--About five miles from North Sheldon, in a private burial ground, is a large gray marble slab placed on four pedestals and bearing in part these inscriptions: Major JEDEDIAH CLARK, JR. Who Was Born March 25 A.D. 1761.; JEDEDIAH CLARK Who Was Born Jan. 11 A.D. 1736, Died FEb. 26 A.D 1804. On separate slabs are found the following: FRANCES A. Wife of JED P. CLARK Died Oct 14, 1860 age 51 years., ESTER CLARK Died July 22, 1860 age 90 yrs., JAMES LUTHER CLARK Born May 8, 1834 Burlington, VT. Died at Sheldon March 4, 1843 Aged 8 yrs. 10 months. (Submitted by) Mrs. Grace Haynes Rogers, 29 Peterboro Street, Detroit, Mich.
I tried to find these tombstones on a visit to that area a few years ago and think they are most likely in the North Sheldon Cemetery but have disappeared. Es(t)her Smith Clark was wife of Jedediah Clark, Jr. and was d/o Elihu Smith and Onor Slade Smith who are buried in the nearby Missisquoi Valley Cemetery. Elihu Smith tombstone incorrectly inscribed Elisha Smith. Jedediah Clark (Sr.) was married to Susannah Smith, sister of Elihu Smith. Roger Petersen

Hello! I took the picture of Santiago's headstone for you. Next to him was his wife and I took a picture of hers, as well. I will add a page for her and if you want a transfer of it, I can do that for you:) Also..I am just amazed at this cemetery. They don't do ANY maintenance of stones flush to the ground. You can see the one for Santiago where I had to dig a TON of sod off of it. These people who don't have visitors to keep up with their headstones are slowly being completely covered by sod/grass. It's SO sad. I bet there ARE stones already completely covered never to be seen again. :( Let me know if you want a transfer of Juanita's :)

Thanks for spending the time you spent on photographing my family's.
I would like to thank you for the work you are doing. I just found my great great grandfather and grandmother on this site. I called my mother to to tell her, because we have been looking for them for years. I assume you are a McCormick or closely related, because of all the McCormicks you are logging in. My mother is a McCormick from Bristol,VT. Betty McCormick. She married Joseph Bourgeault in 1950. Keep up the good work.
