PLEASE DO NOT PUT FAMILY SEARCH DEATH CERTIFICATES ON ANY OF MY MEMORIALS. Yes I know the Find a grave rules, but think about this, would you put it on your families memorials? I wouldn't, They should be remembered in a kind and loving way. I see many family ones, with pictures and loving stories on them. That is the way I am sure they would want to be remembered. If you want to put it on your own family, then do so, but think about what you would like someone to put on your memorial page, remember these are out there for all to see. The more bio pages I read, alot of people just keep spewing out the "RULES", they are Guidelines, not law. I read one person who said, if you do not want to transfer, then don't enter people on Find a Grave, I thought that was so right. I see memorials sitting there from 8 years ago, with nothing on them, yet they will not transfer to family without DNA and then there is, they want a source, If I have to do all that, I don't even leave the information, let them fill in the blanks if they seem to know so much. I am grateful for the kind and generous people who transfer family so that they can be loved and information added to them. God Bless these wonderful People!! |
If someone has been kind in transferring memorials to you, please pay it forward, and transfer family to someone who asks you.
I am helping Patti, update memorials at Spring Grove, so if it looks like I have alot it is because I am helping her, and then I send the back when I am done.
I do not believe in hoarding, as I have read from other people's bio's, there is no prize for who has the most, please help families get their families. I have met some extremely kind and generous people, who have gone above and beyond, and been extremely kind in transfers, to all of you, I want to say Thank You so much!! These people have helped me so much in connecting families, I would have never been able to do that without their generosity.
For me, Find a Grave is about helping others, not who has the most memorials, "wins". I see so many that have no info on them, yet the contributor won't transfer, yes, I know about the Edit function, but for me, it is putting together all the many missing pieces of my family, and adding my own touches. Thank You again to the wonderful, generous people, who have been so kind to me, I always "pay it forward". I feel very Blessed to know these people who do transfer freely, that to me is what Find a grave is all about.

Hi, Ok, I removed the death certificate. I had not looked at your guidelines. I can understand some of your concerns, however, the cause of death, especially if it is a hereditary disease, can be invaluable information to a descendant. I don't see why it would be offensive. I do respect your wishes and my apologies for posting it.

Dave Schelkle has been my best friend since kindergarten (we are 71 now) his sister Mary (Schelkle) Ward uses computers, a little: Dave VERY little.
Their Mother Connie, was the best Cub Scout Den Mother, ever.
You have at least 2 of their family on line back to Great-Grandparents, and I'm trying to help them find their roots!
Regards, for all your good work,

|Kay Arnold||RE: Main entrance cemetery photos|
The cemetery photos show under the main cemetery 'home' page, not under each memorial. I am not sure why you would want one on a specific memorial, unless the photo directly pertains to your memorial and my cemetery photos do not pertain to a specific grave site. Think how much more server room would be needed by findagrave, to say nothing of how unwieldy and slow to load it would be, if every memorial also included all the main cemetery photos. None of the memorials include the main cemetery photos.
If I have misunderstood, please contact me again.
