I began contributing to Find A Grave as a means to record the headstone inscriptions I had transcribed from walking many cemeteries back in the day, mostly Polk, Madison, Clarke and Warren counties in Iowa and mostly relatives. This was before Find A Grave and way before Find A Grave turned into a genealogical site. My main goal is to preserve what was written on the headstones and to learn about the people.|
Recording headstone information is more than numbers to me. I have been contributing to Find A Grave for almost 8 years. I have under 5,000 memorials. I do not transfer just because it was requested. I have never had a problem with anyone on here, until today (August 28, 2013). Threats and name calling does not work. If adults didn't act like bully's neither would their children.
Please contact me by clicking the edit tab on the upper right hand corner of the memorial and then clicking the suggest a correction link. Please provide your source! I have been getting a number of messages containing incorrect information or guesswork. Family trees on another well known website are NOT sources.
I removed my email address because of spam. Recently it has gotten terrible!
Include all Find A grave memorial numbers if you are wanting me to link memorials please.
I have countless hours in walking cemeteries, travel, reading microfilm, transcribing newspaper articles, etc. as do other contributors. It would be very considerate to give the Find A Grave contributor credit when using the photgraphs, bio's, etc on your public family tree's.

I've transferred this memorial to you. Would be interested in reading the newspaper article you mention. My husband ancestry runs through the Church family from Wetzel county but I haven't linked Mary to them yet. Thanks.

Thanks so much Karen. As for the updates I hope I don't disappoint you. I know little and unable to spent much time on this hobby. But connections in the family are fractured and I don't want to loose them. Thanks again!
I'm just now starting my families' journey. Found my great great grands', Matilda and William Briley, 61209866, Tull Cemetery. How exiciting it was to find your memorial. Would you consider a transfer to me if you aren't related? I'm 48277623. I so appreciate your interest in preservation and all the work you have done.

Ted is such a sweetheart!!!
|Laura J. Stewart||Thanks for the kind words..|
The duplicate is still there, her last name is misspelled (name was spelled correctly in the obit he posted), that is why I didn't find it. Ted Butler has it, I have sent him messages, we will work it out. He is a pleasure to work with also.
Melba was a very special cousin of mine!
|Laura J. Stewart||I found it..|
Her name is misspelled...
