Bio and Links
Bio Photo Native of Knox County, Illinois. Resident of Henry County, Illinois. Avid genealogist. I love visiting cemeteries and taking photographs when time allows. I try to keep my eye out for local photo requests. I try to focus on the local cemeteries in my area that have not yet been photographed and also visit random cemeteries when I travel.
Concerning transfer requests...per Find A Grave's rules.....transfer requests should be for DIRECT RELATIVES WITHIN FOUR GENERATIONS. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Many people request far outside those guidelines. I do make exceptions in some cases. Examples would be your best friend, your brother in law, sister in law.

BULK SURNAME REQUESTS SHOULD NOT BE MADE. Do not request a transfer based solely on a common surname.

I always respond to edit suggestions sent via the Edit tab. I only refuse the suggestion if I am personally aware that incorrect info is being suggested.

The full FAG rules on transfers are found here~~~

I will add pertinent info from an obituary but please don't send me edit suggestions asking to include complete obituaries on recently deceased individuals.

RE: Oxford Cemetery
Thank you for all you do for the preservation and documenting of our cemeteries. I wouldn't doubt there are buried gravestones in Oxford Cemetery. There are open areas of the cemetery where logically there should be gravestones.....I look forward to meeting you out and about graving. lol

Joseph Spencer Oxford Cemetery
Spencer, Joseph Feb 24, 1866 AE 61yrs 12d
Believe me, I am not making up the dates/info lol.
I am continuously researching. I read old local newspapers in libraries and online, newspapers on micro fish, (especially the town censuses). I read old historical books about counties and towns I'm researching. I visit cemeteries and take pictures. I would like to get into some restoration of cemeteries and gravestones.....I tried to sign up for a class through the state on restoration, but it was full. I'll keep trying. In doing this research I came across some information about Oxford Cemetery which was collected about 8 yrs ago. The information I shared about Joseph Spenser was in this recent "find" along with some older pictures of gravestones taken at Oxford Cemetery. I love the research and I want to help rebuild the old cemeteries. It saddens me to see how fast the old cemeteries are declining. I have 4 cemeteries I am gathering data on at present. 2 in Missouri, Oxford( I live a mile away) and Greenwood Cemetery in Harmon, Illinois. Oxford cemetery had 267 gravesites.....I am trying to find the other 67 missing "memorials*.

Frank Shroyer Grave Oxford Cemetery
As you can probably see .....I took a before and after picture of this gravestone....very carefully I dug the sunken stone out of the dirt and grass. I added the pictures to Walter Shroyer's memorial which was already on the Oxford site as a courtesy. I then made a memorial for Frank Shroyer as there was no memorial for him. The name and dates for Frank weren't readable until I uncovered them. My initials in white are down in the rt hand corner of my pics. The info about Frank Shroyer on the 2nd memorial made is not correct. The 2nd memorial for Frank was made after I had already made a memorial for him.(but the same day)

RE: Maria Ryan-Moreau and family
You're very welcome. I am gald I could have been of help and that I was able to help locate some of your family members that were previously unknown.

I did check with their obituary and was able to locate some of their children's grave site. I added photos wherever possible.

Mary Logsdon
Thanks so much for the heads up regarding Mary's memorial. I have made a note that the memorial is a centopah and added the additional info and links to her parents.
