Just a friend!|
Please understand that I have no control over the names, words and dates engraved on stones, written on death certificates or provided in obituaries. I didn't write them. I'm only providing those previously written words to you.
I have been a contributor on this site for over 13 years, so yes it stands to reason that I have a fair number of memorials that I have entered, added to and lovingly care take even though they may not be a branch of my own family. It's quite possible that if I had not entered the memorial to begin with, you may not have been able to find them.
Individuals using this site need to realize that we are all volunteers and do not need to deal with abusive behavior or rudeness just because we won't make a transfer to someone who has registered two days or two months ago and want every memorial on the site with the surname of Jones. Or a transfer of a memorial of someone who they think just might be a fifth cousin, four times removed of their third ex-husband.
If you are new to this site, PLEASE read the "Frequently Asked Questions" located "HERE". If you take just a moment to familiarize yourself with these guidelines, it will definitely help yours and everyone else's state of mind, blood pressure and headaches.
If you will please use the "Edit" tab located on each memorial, I will be more than happy to correct, edit or add information to a memorial that is meaningful. I will not add all of the information from the past ten census records that have been released or any distasteful or disturbing messages.
Please be kind. We all make mistakes from time to time. If I have made a mistake or created a duplicate memorial later than one you have created, please use the "Edit" tab and send me the correction or let me know of the duplication and it will be taken care of quickly.
I will make transfers using the "Guidelines" if they are not a relative of mine. I will transfer your children, siblings, parents, grandparents or great-grandparents. All other requested transfers will be considered if you use the "Edit" feature and state your relationship or intended need for the memorial.
Lastly and most importantly, there are so many absolutely wonderful people that use Find-A-Grave! I am very appreciative for all of the suggested corrections, additional information and photos that have been provided. Please don't allow the rude, abusive and sometimes rather bizarre behavior of individuals to curb your enthusiasm or your want to help others.

|D Lowery Drake||RE: Duplicates for San Antonio #4 & Confederate Cemeteries|
Joan, I have gone through and deleted all the duplicates I had for City Cemetery #4/Confederate Cemetery but please let me know if you happen to see anyone I missed. I appreciate you pointing them out as I'd like to have everything as correct as possible. My concern now with those that weren't duplicated is this... According to cemetery records it states they were buried in #4 but apparently isn't always the case. How am I to know if I have the correct cemetery? Any suggestions as I'd like to correct if wrong. Thanks, Donna

Thanks for the heads up on all the duplications for San Antonio Cemetery #4. I was entering burial information from the San Antonio, Bexar Co, cemetery records and #4 is the cemetery they had listed for my entries. Is #4 the same cemetery as Confederate? I usually double check entries before adding anything but not sure what happened in this case. I'll go through my entries and delete the duplicates. It'll take me a couple of days though. It's a busy week for me. Thanks again and Happy Hunting! Donna

I am inquiring about your Find A Grave Memorial# 134816260 listing. You list Mary (Cook) Mattison as "Dau. of Richard Cook & Susanne Eldrige". Would you have any info stating this? All info I have found states she is dau. of John Henry Cook & Susan Martha Maria Lightfoot. Just trying to keep my facts as accurate as possible (I am a direct relative). Thank you for your help...

Thanks for the super fast action! Are you related in any way or is this just one of the memorials you were kind enough to create?

Hi! I just came across your entry for J. Frank Allen. He is my father- can you please transfer to me?
Please message me if you need any further info. My sister Vernae Freeman is buried next to him. Are you related since you have his mother and father's info listed?

RE: Ferdinand Joseph Gastring
Death: May 10, 1892
First of all, thank you for your hard work. I am wondering if you know if this person and his first wife were divorced. It is a little confusing in the vital records. His youngest son, reported the first wife to be his mother. I have not found a marriage record for the second wife.
And information about which wife belongs to which children would be appreciated.

I think this is a duplicate/incorrect entry of another Ferdinand Schievelbein on the same cemetery. Can you please delete this memorial?

Joan, you are very kind -- and very welcome. You have done so much on Find A Grave that it's truly mind-boggling! It's only right that we show how much we appreciate that. So much would be lost without your dedication. Thank you!
With warm regards and appreciation,
