I am D. Bradley (Brad) York. I have been doing family history research since I was a teenage boy in 1962. That means I have been doing this sort of thing for 53 years now.|
If I can help you in any way, let me know. I consider ownership of a memorial, photograph, or any other family history data to be for the good of all. I freely share all that I have for the betterment of all genealogy.
My El Paso County, Colorado - WWII Casualties project.
There were ~200 casualties of WWII that had connection to Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado. They died anywhere from Normandy to Okinawa, from Africa to Hawaii, from France to the Philippines. Not all died in the heat of battle or a as direct cause of the war. However, they all ‘laid a costly sacrifice upon the altar of freedom'. They all were sons, or brothers, or husbands. They all were loved and lost.
These are the statistics:
* KIA: 138
* FOD: 9
* DOW: 9
* DNB: 43
KIA = Killed in Action
FOD = Finding on Death. This is a military term that basically means the military knows the person died, but does not have the specific date of death, and/or does not have a body to prove the death.
DOW = Died of Wounds received in battle.
DNB = Died Non Battle.

|Peter Bennett||Morrell Family|
My Father's uncle, Ernest J. McQueen, was married to a Minnie Evalina Morrell. She was born 25 May 1884 in Fremont, UT, she died 30 Sept 1960 in Vista, CA.
Ernest was born in Silver Creek, NE, and they were married in Garland, Big Horn, WY, 13 March 1904.
I did not see any reference to her on your page. I am new to Ancestry research.

I have been working on the O'Donnell family as my children are direct descendants. I have some of their history from when in Pa and Ohio, but once moved to Florida and other locations, it has been slow going. If you wouldn"t mind, can you pass my email address along and maybe your nutrioninalist or you and I could share notes.

I have accepted the birth and death dates for Leo Sr and Leo Jr. Are you related to the O'Donnells?

I Have been attempting to fulfill your request for Rufus, But there is a problem.
My contact at the cemetery informs me that their records indicate a Leroy Robert Titus, with a birth date of 11/18/1927, and a death date of 6/11/2011, was cremated at the cemetery, but his ashes are not there. She does not have a record of where they went.

|Jan Bos from Nijmegen, Holland||Flight Officer Gene C. Knight|
Flight Officer Gene C. Knight is listed missing in attacks in preparations on the attack on Sicily. His body was never accounted for. His name is inscribed on the Wall of Missing of the Carthage (North African) Cemetery in Tunisia.
I have just finished (early July 2015) a DVD "The stayed behind" about the temporary American GELA Cemetery in Sicily, where over 1200 men and women were buried between July 1943 and April 1947. I have also a chapter "Missing in Action" where I would like to add your material (pictures of cenotaphs and/or newespaper clipping).
Can I have your permission to use yours, of course you will be credited
Seasons Greetings, Brad. Long time no 'see'. I hope you are well. I may have asked you this before, so if I did, please pardon the repeat. I have other Holmans at Roosevelt Memorial Park in Gardena and I was wondering if any of them are yours? I also have a number of them at Inglewood Park Cemetery.
I am transferring memorials to people whom I have done work for, regardless of the relationship. Just let me know.

You are very welcome. My husband and I loved doing this for you. It was a real joy when we found her grave site. No map to show where she was buried. In a very old section of the cemetery.
