I first discovered this site when I was researching descendants through one of the proven "royalty" lines. I was interested in finding where some of these individuals were buried and was hoping to visit England in the near future. |
My England trip has not panned out yet, but I did discover that I liked this site due to the fact that an individual could be personalized by adding photos, taking pictures of headstones, and adding bios. I felt this somehow draws you in closer to the person. I love the fact that you can leave notes also.
I have told everyone that I know about this site and I and some friends have been doing all we can to document some of our local cemeteries. We have completed our local cemeteries and have expanded into some of our surrounding communities. We have met some very nice people due to this project. We also post all of the local obits to FAG if the obit states which cemetery they are located in.
We also volunteer to put out flags on Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. It only takes a few hours, and, let's face it, some of these guys can use the help. They are always so grateful, and the ceremonies are always beautiful.
I would also like to thank the volunteers who take time to take pictures of headstones for me at cemeteries that I will probably never get to see. Recently, I found where one of my fathers relatives was buried, and a volunteer took a picture of the grave. I do appreciate each and every one of you!
I encourage everyone to adopt a cemetery, scour the local papers for obits, and tell all their friends and neighbors about this site. Everyone benefits!

Asking that you transfer Elizabeth Jean Captain # 167647322 to me; she is my mother; I have added photos of her from my family archives. Thank you so much.

Diana, Thanks for the quick response. I had contacted Paul and he didn't know where the information came from, he thought you had added it when he transferred it to you. I will have to get back over to Placerville soon, the last time I went I didn't know I had relatives in this cemetery but did visit others. Wish I could just retire and work on genealogy full time.

|Kat||Margaret Minerva Power Simpson|
Thank you for all of your hard work. I saw the memorial for Margaret Minerva Power Simpson and was curious as to how you got the bio information on her. One of her brother's is my great grandfather and I have been researching this family for some time. All the records I have list her only as Minerva Power Simpson. Do you live in the Placerville area near this cemetery? I am trying to locate one of her sisters Mary Jane Power Shaw who is listed in the 1930 census but I can not find her after that. I have not been able to locate cemetery records for Placerville, Camino area. Do you have any suggestions?
Again Thanks for all that you do.

|Diane Petrick Dillard||Transfer of management 9089470|
Hello Diana, This is Diane Petrick Dillard. I am currently working on the Dillard genealogy and Careta is my husband's grandmother. I would appreciate it very much if you would consider transferring management of her find a grave record 9089470 to my management. I would like to expand upon the information provided since I have her personal family records. Thank you for your consideration.
|Bruce in Louisville, KY||George Koutroulis|
I saw you had posted memorials of George Koutroulis, d. 1987 and his mother. Judging by the latter you seem to know the family well. I am wondering if George as a man in his late twenties might have been a lifeguard/resort worker and/or high school teacher/swim coach?

VIn reference to:
Find a Grave, memorial # 14547312 (2006) Watsonville, CA
I was disturbed about your information on Nancy F French. I finally found that you used Ancestry for your census information in 1880. The information you have on Nancy French is as follows.
Deaf and dumb
This information only appears only on Ancestry records, not on the census film. This is misleading and false material. This should not be on this site.
