Karen, thank you so much for posting the photos of their graves. Also, I appreciate that you created a memorial for Nell. I didn't realize she had passed away.

I have a little more info on her that I will send you through edits.

Again, that you so much......Orza

Dear Karen,
We are related!
Please email to: maryreardon60@yahoo.com

I'm so excited to find you; I'm going to send you the whole ancestry: Andrew/Andreas Wachter b 22 Jan 1839 Prussia m. Margaret/Margaretha Hoffman b 21 Oct 1841 Bavaria; d 25 Aug 1898 Pgh (56). They married in Germany and had 3 of their 12 kids in Germany. 3rd born was Maria "Mary" Wachter, who is my great grandmother! They immigrated ~ 1864 and had 9 more kids all born in Pittsburgh.
Here's all the kids:
1) 23 Jul 1862 Christina Wachter Lovy*
2) 1863 William A Wachter
3) Apr 1864 Maria "Mary" Wachter Keeling*
4) 18 Jul 1871 PA - Maggie Wachter Lang
5) Dec 1874 PA Margaret Wacher - Cholera 10 mo old
6) 1876 Julia Wachter - Meningitis 11 mo old
7) 8 Jun 1879 Theresa Wachter
8) Aug 1880 PA "Lizzie" Wachter
9) Apr 1883 PA Lev (Xavier?) Wachter - Diarrhea 3 mo
10) 2 Apr 1885 John Andrew Wachter m. Thecla
11) 17 Jun 1888 PA Johanna Flora Wachter m. Arista Prokich
12) 1896 PA Alnoishes Wachter - Marasmus < 1 yr
I don't have anything concrete on Andrew Wachter 1839; there are Wachter's all over Pittsburgh and Ohio. There is a street named "Wachter" close to St Paul's Monastery. Andrew Wachter and Margaretha Hoffman lived at 17 Monastery St and #3 Maria "Mary" Wachter and husband John Francis Keeling b 1860 Pgh lived at 23 Monastery St. The row housing on Monastery St burned down in 1909 and Mary and John moved to Trumbull, Ohio. They all stayed in Ohio except their 1st born, Andrew John Keeling, my grandfather b 1885 Pgh. There were 14 children in all; can't find 2. Here's the kids:
1) 1885 Pgh Andrew John Keeling - my grandfather
2) 1887 Pgh Alphonse Joseph Keeling
3) 1889 Pgh Mary Keeling - Atelectasis 3 days old
4) 1890 Pgh Hedwig Keeling
5) 1892 Pgh Maria Keeing
6) 1893 Pgh Mary Keeling
7) 1896 Pgh Esther Keeling - no record
8) 1897 Pgh John F Keeling Jr - Diphtheria 6 yrs
9) 1899 Pgh unk
10) 1900 Pgh Marcellus Joseph Keeling - Endocardis while attending St Francis Seminary, Loretto, PA - passed age 29
11) 1902 Pgh Antonette M Keeling
12) 1913 OH Bernard A Keeling

John Francis Keeling's father, Joseph Keeling was like a founding father of Pittsburgh and filty rich D/B/A Keeling Coal Company and later The Birmingham Coal Co -- google those. He had mines all over, upwards of 250 employees and an incline named - The Keeling Incline. He had boats all over the Monongahela River. All was good until Standard Oil and Rockefeller swept through the hood underpricing etc. It took 20 years but this is how we ended up with a law on the books called the Anti-trust Act or Monopoly or something like that.
I'm afraid to keep typing; that the message will be rejected for length. I'll wait to hear from you! Mary
