Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing family history research since about 1971. Although I have worked on all my lines, I have especially focused on the extended Harlan family who were members of the Harlan Party that traveled to California by wagon in 1846. My "family" database is available for free through the World Connect Project at www.rootsweb.com.

I believe that Find-A-Grave is a wonderful collaborative tool to share and improve family history information. Therefore, I am happy to consider requests for the transfer of memorials I have added.

RE: Sherrell
Steve,
That would be great or you can send me a picture or scan of it to my email and I will transcribe it. I am not related either but hopefully some family member will appreciate it.

Thanks for your efforts, John

RE: Kenison
I also photographed Irene Kennison who is just to the left. Not sure if she's related, but she has her own memorial at Mt. Hope.

Robert Franklin Orr, Henderson County, NC
Steve, you left a memorial note stating that Robert Franklin Orr served in the 2nd NC Mounted Infantry, CSA, a Confederate Soldier. The 2nd NC Mounted was a Union regiment composed of men, mostly from western North Carolina, who went across the mountains to Knoxville, TN to enlist toward the end of the Civil War. Orr enlisted on October 1, 1863. He previously served in the 7th Battalion, North Carolina Cavalry, a Confederate Unit, for one year, beginning in July of 1862.

You left two flags, CS and US, which is appropriate!

Thanks for you good work on find a grave and for your interest in this soldier.

Regards, Al Leonard Tryon, North Carolina

Thanks for adding "maintained by" to his memorial. It makes it so much easier to add more family history without waiting for it to approved.
