|I was born in Humboldt, Gibson, Tennessee. My near ancestors came from Gibson, Perry, and Humphreys Counties in Tennessee. I love genealogy and have worked on my family tree for about 35 years. My father is also working on our lines and my daughter is also working on my husband's lines. I have over 40,000 names in my database. I love family pictures and always take pictures of gravestones. It is a great hobby and helps others with their work. I live in Cherokee County, Alabama and do cemetery surveys here.|

I notice a child's Parker grave in the cemetery - plus some later dates. Are these all in the same area of George Washington & Charity Watkins Parker? This is our step-father's GGGrandfather and GGGrandmother. Am doing some research for his granddaughter.
thank for all you do.
Are you related to any Russells
|C Davidson||RE: Parker|
Sorry Patti......I am attempting to find hard proof of Mary K. being the daughter of B.E and Martha Carter. DAR doesn't want to use census records unless it specifically states the relationship. Mary K. and CS Parker are my gg grandparents but havent found hard proof of the Carter's being her (Mary K.) parents. That's where my chain has a missing link. LOL...Thanks for your response.
Patti.....Thank you so much for all the work you have done for this website. I am currently attempting to apply to DAR and I need to supply proof of lineage. I see where you have linked C.S Parker, Mary K. Parker, Benjamin and Martha Emaline Cooley Carter. CS and Mary K. Carter are buried at B. Parker Cemetery in Humphreys County. Any hard proof of this linkage would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so very much for posting my great-grandfather Harper's tombstone picture. I am now too old to walk through cemeteries and take all the images desired. The digital camera has changed a lot of things. Years ago film was expensive, so I had only a few pics. Appreciatively, Chester Martin
|Doug Thompson||RE: Thomas Thompson|
Someone sent me some notes on Old Thompson Cemetery.
"Here's my guess of its location on a Google Earth map. For your Orientation note the Mt.
Olive Cemetery in the south east quadrant.
These notes were from Dec 2002,
My best try at deciphering those 11 year old notes:
Bob Landrum N. house
Mary Dir N. & behind clump of trees
info sticks st N to fence row was a road
S side of F. row
In front of Joe Frank Brown's house (I looked up this address then and came up with
150 Tollie Gordon Road which is marked on the map below.)
, I just ran across another, probably better source, that says Thompson Cemetery is located "across the road from Jamie Walker's house (106 Jim Dedmon Road)". That would be up further NW I think, nearer Bells Chapel."
Hope this may help. Some of the directions I do not understand, but perhaps they will make sense to you. I know you would like to find it as well since they are also your relatives.
Thanks so much,
|K. Burns||Spencer Horner|
Do you know anything about this family? I have been told Spencer Horner had a son named William Barton Horner. If you have information on this family, I would love to know more. I've been told Wm Barton had a daughter named Azeline who married my relative Joseph E Spoon. Thanks.

You are a lovely person to take cemetery markers picture and put on Find a Grave so I just found my great Aunt Mollie Batton Buchanan and her husband and did not know here she was buried.
I was born in Waverly, Humphreys Co., TN but my mother left there when I was two. My young school years was spent in Ok City and then to CA for last two years of high school and been here ever since.
Miss my family still there in TN and need to visit them soon again. Been too long and we are getting up in years....I mean really up. ha.
You are a Cemetery Angel and I pray many blessings for you.
San Jose, CA

Patti, It was an honor to do this and to remember Mathew. I did go back to the main office and checked his interred card and it has the spelling of Mathew on it. Don't know which is correct, but I'm sure you do. Have a great journey. Allen
