Bio Photo Retired postmaster (South Pittsburg, Tennessee) & 28 year veteran of USPS. Have been doing family research since 1993, after the death of my brother David, who was the original family genealogist. I concentrate on the Oglesby family in America and update my research database to WorldConnect on a regular basis.

Thanks for the edit you sent with his full dates. If you know anything more about this Oglesby, spouses, children, parents, any other biographical detail, I'd love to have it for his memorial.

May I have your permission to attach his picture to his entry for me at ancestry.com? I will give you credit for the picture.

Victor,
Do you want me to transfer this one to you? I am not related, I just found her while researching obituaries here in Western New York. She should be with family.

Same here Victor, July 31, 2012. I had an awesome career, but it came just in time. I haven't come up for air since. When people ask what I'm doing in my retirement, and my response is "walking the cemeteries", it's just not what they are expecting to hear. Enjoy yours, as I am mine, as "Each Day Counts", Loretta

Just an FYI...The headstone photo does not match with the dates provided on this memorial. After researching the census records (1900,1910,1920) I question if Arnold Oglesby is even a child of Napoleon Bonepart and Julia Oglesby. He is never listed on any of the censuses. If the birth year was 1902 he would have been on the 1910 and probably the 1920 census. He isn't. If he was born in 1916 he would have been on the 1920 census. He isn't. The other 9 children listed on the memorials for Napoleon and Julia are on those censuses. I have also notified the individual who set up the memorial.

Hello Victor, from one retired postmaster to another. I had 31 years and 6 days with the USPS. Loving retirement, looks like you are too. "Each Day Counts", Loretta

How did you come up with her memorial so quickly, I just entered her yesterday? I entered her from the interment sheet and then will get out later to get a gravestone picture if available. You didn't say if or how you are related to her, assuming you are by the last name. I will wait a few days and then transfer her to you, unless you tell me not to.
