Hi, I'm a retired police officer for the City of North Charleston in South Carolina. I retired in April 2005 with 33 years in law enforcememt. I also served 4 years in the USAF from 1967-1971. I have a beautiful wife, Roxanne, a beautiful daughter, Stephanie, who served 8 years in the United States Air Force and is now in the USAF Reserves. I have a beautiful grandaughter, born December 1, 2006, and her name is Raena Makenzie and she is the apple of my eye. I love to read and study history of the war for southern independence and World War II.|
Find A Grave is one of my favorite sites, it is very interesting and full of unlimited history. If you have some free time please stop by my mom and dads site and I would like to thank everyone for all of the beautiful flowers and messages left for them, it really means alot to us.

Thank you for the flower of my 2nd great uncle's memorial. But, you may wish to review it as he deserted his unit and signed an oath to remain out of the south until after the war was decided. He really doesn't merit commendations for service. Just thought you would want to know.

Thanks so much for answering. I apologize. I mis-read your post on my great grandfather's page. I looked at your address and saw South Carolina. I do have relatives from South Carolina just not that grandfather. I was hoping you had more information about him as I know very little about him.
Thanks so much for all you have done and continue to do for our country. My father was in the army for 23 years and I also have had several policemen in our family.

I was wondering why and how you posted a statement about being a civil war veteran on my great grandfather's find a grave page. He did in fact serve in the Civil War but not for the state you have included. My great grandfather, Christopher Heideman, served from Georgia.
Thanks for letting me know,

My thanks for your efforts. Thank you (and your daughter) for your service to our country. My wife wishes to visit Charleston and now I know one of the sites I wish to go and pay my respects.
