I think the Findagrave is a valuable tool and enjoy a good hunt! It's really all about all the volunteers that make Findagrave such a success. Also when I learned just how many graves are unmarked as well as how many stones deteriorate over time, I felt I had to do my part to help document those in my family at the very least. |
My interest in Findagrave is mostly genealogical. The links are my favorite part because you can just click through the generations and different family surnames to get a great visual of how everyone fits into the family. Thanks to anyone who has accepted my requests for family links.
Also I believe our female ancestors deserve to be recognized with their birth right name. Trying to do my part by adding surnames so they do not become lost to history.
For ANY corrections: Please click "Edit" on the memorial itself (NOT on my profile) and choose the appropriate option for your suggestion, as that is what the system is set up for!
Most of my memorials are my relatives but I am glad to make transfers if you are directly related, more closely related than I am and that you will be able to contribute more to the memorial.

Please advise, is Jan 1896 actually on the headstone. I would also like to add to the biography. (Please see the below for the reason of this request.)
Jacob was born in Waymouth, Atlantic, NJ to John and Catherine (Toner) Estlow. He enlisted on 19 Sep 1861 in Philadelphia PA and was discharged on 23 Sep 1864 in Harpers Ferry, VA filling out his length of service. On his death which is listed as 9 February 1896, May's Landing, NJ, in a cabin owned by William Post of New York, NY. The Philadelphia Inquirer of 10 Feb 1896 notes it was unclear how long he had been deceased.

This is the reason I have began to deny adding names which are not on the marker.
Someone likely sent an edit, perhaps I accepted or perhaps it was added anyway. Before we began this new edit system we had no where near this type of problem.
I wish the site would begin to realize, if the name is not on the marker it should not be added.
It is near impossible to locate who sent that edit with this new system.
I have removed Abner from his name. Thank you so very much for taking time to ask.

I'm wondering if you have or can help me find more information about Enoch DeWitt DuBose #139764829. I'm writing about the unit he served in during WWII and would like to learn more about him. Do you know any living relatives? Please email me at your earliest convenience?

Sorry, but my computer is not working well. My information was by word of mouth. Katheryn & my
Mother worked together at Mizzou.

Would you like me to transfer her to you? Carole
|Carolyn Troupe Stoll||Elizabeth Jane (Lizzie) Whatmore,Troupe|
I went in to her death record and her father and mother were Benjamin Franklin Whatmore 1834 England or PA 1834-1877 PA, Sarah Elizabeth Hummel,Whatmore 1840-PA 1886 PA. I found a records for her siblings Mary Ann, William Henry, Elizabeth Jane, John. Spelling of her fathers last name has different spelling and I think it
might be spelled wrong. I am related to the Troupe-Troup. I do not know what you have on her family. Hope this is correct. and her siblings. If it is correct let me know and I can add her parents and siblings to her memorial. Some trees had different
dated for siblings, if you have them let me know.

|Wanda Conrad||Henry and Matilda Kreider|
Hi Kelly - thank you for contacting me to link Henry and Matilda to Milton Kreider.
There are currently two memorials for both Henry and Matilda (Henry - #100486098 which is the correct one and #101794779 - which is incorrect - trying to figure out how to have this one deleted - -- Matilda #100486330 which is the correct one and #84193631 - which is incomplete).
The two that you referenced on your edit I feel are the correct ones.
Do you know how I should proceed to get help with removing the two memorials that are not correct?
I've been trying to figure this out for awhile so that I can accurately link my family.
