Effie Marie Bell Grinstead edits
I've accepted your name edit for Effie because of the middle name and nickname, but after doing some research this morning I found her parents in Henry county, Iowa and linked to them. Her maiden name was actually "Bell", not "Belle", so I will be adjusting that portion of your edit.

I've found obits for Effie and members of her family that I've now added in. I found the daughter Irma M. Unkrich and will be putting in a relationship link edit for her (she is in California).

RE: Thank you for the note on Charles Turner
If you've got the right Charles Turner... then I'm your 5th cousin once removed. My Mom was Chuck's Sister (Laura Lucille Turner Guess)

Thank you for the note on Charles Turner
Hi there... I felt guilty when I got your note... as the information on Ancestry.com was provided by me... I never thought to go back and add a bio to my Uncle Chuck's file here at Find-a-grave. After I found the citation on-line at Fold3 I sent it to his daughter Kay... and she went out in their barn... and found the Navy Cross in some of his things they had not looked thoroughly through. I took you kind suggestion and added the bio... and thanks again. I noticed several Grinstead family notes.. are you related to Grinsteads... I have them in my tree? Paul Guess

Matilda B Hazlewood Grinstead
No, I don't know where she is buried. I requested a photo of husband Jacob's site and maybe the marker will reveal more data. Check back and see if it reveals anything. I suspect she would be buried there with her girls and husband, too but unless a marker is found, it's hard to tell. The cemetery appears not to have kept good records. I didn't find an obit for her up until 1922 in existing sources. I had the last 3 daughters connected to their dad Jacob. Best

RE: Charles Syria
All is good now, my mom worked for Birds Eye for many years and this was probably in her collection of obituarys she saved.

I'm confused about Charles Syria father's name being Bishop and not Syria. You sent me a edit for Charles..

Joseph D Grinstead
Your note: "If you have some time can you double check the date of birth. I believe Joseph D. Grinstead, the son of William and Levinia Grinstead was born 8 Apr 1837 and died in 1863. Please let me know where this date of birth came from. Thanks, Cathy"

Hi Cathy, the dates that I have on his memorial are Apr 8, 1837 & Feb 24, 1863. I am not sure what you are questioning??
