My wife, Sheila, and I started doing genealogy about '97 and in the process, began spending a lot of time in cemeteries. On most vacations, in addition to visiting our daughter and her family who live out of state, we spend a good part of our trips doing genealogy research and trudging through cemeteries. This research has taken us to some really remote cemeteries from South Texas to Kentucky, Kansas, New Mexico and several places in our home state of Arizona. We got involved with and addicted to findagrave in October of '06 and immediately went headlong into it.
Our main goal with findagrave is, first and foremost, accuracy. Genealogy is difficult enough without any more errors being created in the quest for numbers on the contributor's page with findagrave.
One feature with findagrave that we really enjoy is the Photo Request. We really enjoy being able to go find and photograph a headstone or headstones for someone who could possible never get the opportunity to visit the particular cemetery in person and take a photograph of the headstone themselves. We suggest that if possible, fulfill photo requests for people and while there taking the one or two photos they requested, take some of the surrounding headstones if you think there is any possibility of a connection. Then email the additional photos to the person making the photo request.
If you find any errors, would like a photo or interment added or relatives linked or a bio added, please feel free to email us with the information and we will be happy to correct the error, or do whatever else we can to help you with on the memorial. Please do this through the 'suggest a correction or provide additional information' link by clicking on 'Edit' tab at top right of memorial.
Do not post photos of a birth or death certificate, obit or any other type of document on any of my memorials. To have an open certificate photo is disrespectful I feel and it ruins the looks of a memorial. If you find an online certificate and want it posted, let me know and I'll link to it. Do this through the Edit tab explained above and be sure to include the link to the certificate.

Hi Mike, I for one really appreciate someone like yourself who checks out the requests you receive. I know not all requests are correct. Your finding on the grave markers being so different is unusual. Thanks for inspiring me to review my data deeper. Have a great day, Walt

|Walt||RE: Mary Johnson.|
Hi Mike, thanks for questioning my request. It made me look deeper into my Johnson family history. From Ancestry today I found death records for William, Mary (Wiley) and John T Johnson. Both of William and Mary records were reported by John T. John T. death record showed William N. as father and Mary Wiley as mother. Maybe there is a recording or transcription error for the marriage record for Wm and Mary. The "Jas" maybe be "Wm' instead. Thanks for your help and insight. Walt

Hi Mike I was going through my emails recent and older and it appears I have family that I had requested to be linked that haven't been processed, I wasn't sure if you got them, I sent via the SAC on the memorial itself. When you can process it would be most appreciated. Thanks kindly, Jerry Hughes
Thanks for adding the links!

|Bob Christian||Rich Percy Williams|
Thanks so much for entering Percy's information. My name is Bob Christian and he was my Mother's Oldest brother. He was born in Cornwall, England, was in the U.S. Army in WWI and was hit on the head with a rock by another miner and died 24 hours later. If interested I can provide a picture of him in his U.S. Army uniform, taken about 1917. Anyone interested in the family can contact me at my e-mail address. Two graves from Percy is Florence Lillian Killip related through my Father's side of the family.
Thanks for linking his parents and for your contributions to FindAGrave. Sincerely, regis
