I am an archaeologist with an interest in local history and genealogy. In particular I am researching the following families:|
*Smalls of Somerset, PA and Scotland (William Small)
*Gibbens of Venango, PA (John Henry Gibbens)
*Zellers of Huron, OH (Samuel Zeller)
*Schraders of Mahoning, OH and Germany (Anna Schrader)
*Stoneciphers of Harrison County, IN and Germany (Heinrich Stonecypher)
*Ransdells of Mercer County, KY (Shelton Ransdell)
*Taylors of Harrison County, IN (Samuel Taylor)
*Deweeses of Harrison County, IN and Tazewell, IL (Evan Deweese)
*Tuells of Harrison County, IN (Charles Tuell)
*Dentons of Southern Indiana (David Denton)
*Lincolns of Rockingham County, VA (Captain Abraham Lincoln)
I am eager to meet cousins online to exchange info and family pictures. I have many, many Stonecipher/Taylor/Deweese tintypes that I haven't been able to identify. If you would like to take a look, I have uploaded them to my Flickr account.
I will happily transfer graves to relatives (regardless of the number of generations) and also to non-relatives who happen to be doing research on a particular family.

I have never heard of Uncle Linus having a child before he married Aunt Letha. My mom passed away 3 weeks ago and I wonder if she had ever heard anything. Our Dobson's were from the Worthville and Porter areas of Jefferson Co.,PA

Linus Dobson is my granddad's brother. I noticed you have a Cloyd Dobson as his son. Is this information correct?
I see that you have taken a picture of the tombstone for Hannah Motsinger Stonecypher in Pfrimmers Chapel Cemetery in Corydon, Harrison Count Indiana.
I am trying to locate a higher resolution or more legible copy of the inscription on the stone.
Do you have one or do you know where I might be able to locate one?
I live in New Jersey so traveling there would be an issue.
Thank you for the transfer. I appreciate it very much

I saw that you are interested and researching my ancestors.
The names of some of the Gibbons ancestors show Gibbens. I don't know if there is a reason.
My Great Uncle Jason went by Gibbons as did my great grandmother Morilda Gibbons Warren.
John Henry Gibbons I 1771 to 1857 - tombstone shows Gibbons 112383123
John Henry Gibbons II 1799 to 1870 - tombstone not found 112386608
John Henry Gibbens III 1832 to 1909 -tombstone shows Gibbens

Eden, how can I leave a message that isn't public?
|Kathy Dettwyler||Suicide of Benjamin Arthur Small|
Hello Eden -- we're related somehow. I'm the youngest daughter of Robert Meredith Small, who was the youngest child of Benjamin Arthur and Clara Pebley Small. In working on another project entirely, I decided to plug in Benjamin Arthur Small and see what turned up on findagrave. Year before last, I travelled with my mom and sister around western Pennsylvania visiting various relatives of my dad's (he died in 2002). I also attended the annual family reunion two years ago and talked to some folks there. What I discovered was that everyone I talked to had heard a different story about why Benjamin killed himself, none of which matched the story told us by my dad Robert, who was the one who found Benjamin dead in the barn. At this great remove, I actually find it rather amusing that no two branches of the family tell the same story about the issues involved in his suicide. I was wondering where you got the story you have up on findagrave.com about him leaving a message saying he was killing himself because of guilt over his kids' deaths, as that story is new to me. It makes the fifth or sixth different story I've heard and is the first mention of a message in the barn. Very curious!!
