Hi, I am Billy .......|
(Last updated 16 Dec 2012)
Due to my Dad's death, I have taken over my dad's work on the Womble Family Tree. The Family tree goes back to the 1600's when the Wombles(Wombwell) came over from England to Virginia.((( Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Thomas Wombwell who settled in Virginia in 1648 ))) Sometime in the early 1700's the Wombles move to Edgecombe County, NC.
Edgecombe became a County 1741
Nash become a County 1771
Wilson become a County 1855
These are the 3 main Counties for the Womble
(The early years) ....
John Womble b.1756/d.1821
OFF of John William Womble b.1837/d.1904:
There are very few "Womble" (name Womble) left in Edgecombe County from the blood line. There is a lot of, next to kin, still there farming the home stead.
The Family Tree is not just of the Womble but it goes in all direction. You can follow the links I made on Fine A Grave. My dad did not take pictures of any headstones. SO, since I am out there anyway, why not take pictures of other headstones.
The County I will be going to is Harnett, Johnston, Wilson, Nash and Edgecombe, all in NC.
These are the main Counties.
I made this line for family members who would like to trace their family ancestry.
I prefer you to send me information on Find A Grave Memorial. Once I know there is an interest on that person, I will add the information and add some other information that I can find and sometimes I will start a family member search.(Trace their family tree) I love doing this and I do this for free.
Please do not ask for a Transfer just to own it.
Please add or contact me if you have family photos .......

|Elton Etheridge||Van B. Etheredge Cemetary|
I am trying to locate the Van B. Etheredge cemetery. I saw where some one had photographs of the grave headstones for Van B. Etheredge and wife Ellen Moore Etheredge. It is listed as being on Rosebud Church Road, .6 tenths of a mile from Cattail Road in Wilson County, NC. I have been up and down both these roads but have not found it. I was wondering if this address is correct or if anyone is familiar with the location of this cemetery.
|Drew Blanton||Need your assistance, please|
Mr. Womble, can you please give me a phone call at your earliest convenience. My name is Drew Blanton, and my phone number is (843) 424-3648. This is concerning memorial number 63371714, Randolph Sewell Johnson. Thank you very much and I look forward to talking to you soon.
Hello, I am researching Charles and Hannah (Croade) Cushing and was excited to see a photo of their son Edmund on your page. I'm not sure how interested you are in their history, but I would love to know if there is more information available about them in Lunenburg, at the historical society or if you have any you are willing to share. Thank you, Meg

|Deborah Joy||Sarah Womble Ragan|
Hello Billy: I am researching the Ragan family in Apex NC and found a grave for Sarah Womble (1797-1880) who married William Ragan. Do you know her parents or siblings? Any information would be most appreciated. Thanks for the help. Deborah Joy
|NORVELLA||WOMBLE, BOTTOMS, HOOSACK|
Hello Billy, I was shocked to here of your dad's passing some time ago. I am one of the twins of Mary Frances Hoosack. Your dad and I used to play together on the farm when we were kids. I am glad that you continued with the family research. Carl Hoosack

|Sue Bradford||Janet Hales Watkins grave|
#104303310 -- it is indicated that Aunt Janet was married to Wesley Scott Watkins (#104303365). Wesley was her son. She was married to Harold Watkins (#104303408). She also had 2 other children: Harold Watkins, Jr. and Crystal Watkins __?___ (not sure of her last name). Can you please correct this and link all three graves? Thank you for your assistance.
|Debbie Peacock||Peacock Family Cemetery|
Good morning Mr. Womble, can you give me directions to the Peacock Family Cemetery in Johnston County that you have photographed. I am researching my husbands family and looking for Peacock descendants from Johnston County.

|Sabu||Martha Horne Creech|
What I should have mentioned in the message I posted a little while ago, is that it would be nice if, the next time you are in the Clayton City Cemetery, you could take a photo of Martha Creech's tombstone (Memorial #85646524). Obviously there is no hurry on this.
I would do this myself, but I do not live in North Carolina.

|Sabu||Mary B. Creech|
Glad to hear you are continuing your Dad's work. You have downloaded a tombstone photo to Sanford Creech's memorial, (#85640974). His 2nd wife, Mary Broughton Creech, is also on that tombstone. Would you please download this photo to Mary's memorial which is #85642266.

|Eric Hunter Johnson||Mercer Home History|
Hi Billy, I'm a very distant relative to the Mercers' and am fascinated by the history of the farm. I believe my mother and grandmother spoke with your dad many years ago at the Mercer home, and he invited them to family reunions. Would love to chat with you more.
