I have been interested in cemeteries since I was young. My interest started by going with our neighbor's grandfather who was caretaker of our local cemetery. We would ride to the cemetery on his tractor. I enjoyed walking around reading the gravestones. Now I know that there is more. Each cemetery has it's own history and beauty. They all tell a story. By adding memories and pictures, I hope to share this history and beauty. I am a cemetery walker.|

Well, I found Rebecca thanks to you. Would you like me to send you the article she wrote in 1892 and was in the Ticonderoga Sentinel, about all she remembered in her life from Oct 1816, mostly in Hague. It is 7 pages long.

Thank you for all your work, so we can find our ancestors.
On Rebecca Johnson Hayford, Find A Grave Memorial# 101329694, I have put in a request to have her first name changed to Jane, as shown in the obituary of her husband Irving, and in the 1850 census with her parents. Her mother was Rebecca Bevin Johnson (I have not found the cemetery for her yet) I have placed the obit for Irving M Hayford on his photo listing, if you would like to put his obituary in his bio, just let me know, and I will send it for copy and paste, and remove it from the photo.
Thank You for all your work

Thank you for your message on the obit for Hugh Ely. I do have a copy of the Obit. I had hesitated to use it, since he was removed from the pulpit over accusations of mishandling rental money on property he owned. Although he was eventually cleared by the courts, the church considered him tarnished and would not reassign a church to him. In the article, they mistakenly state that the son's name was Irving. The son's name was Erwin Daniel Ely.
I am looking for more info on Hugh's 2nd wife, Clemenza Lodi (Lawrence) Ely. Her death was recorded in family records as occurring in Millbank,South Dakota. Erwin is buried there, but no records have been found for Clemenza, in SD or in NY.
Erwin's wife, Hannah Ella(Robinson)Ely, was my 1st cousin, 3x removed. When their son, Irving passed away, I inherited the genealogical records that the Ely Family had collected.
No, sorry, she was my great great great grandmother's sister.

Yes, she is a relative. She was my great great great grandmother's brother's wife. Thanks again. :-)

Hi Delia, Thanks so much for putting in the updates on this memorial. Mary Ann was the sister who was missing from the overall profile for this family, and now all three children have been linked. Thank you again.

I am related to the Deanes, so Sophie Zambroski's husband, Anthony J Deane, is a cousin. :)
